Hi folks, as you may have seen in my previous post, I am thinking of going on hiatus and I've concluded that... I will be doing just that!
This is basically me taking a step back for a bit to restore the writing mojo I had. On occasion, I may post a reply or two if I suddenly get a kick but ultimately this time will be used just to focus on my work, continue my readings, continue some game playthroughs I need to get done, and just recover.
The timeline I'm thinking of is... probably holding off on consistent writing until maybe after my vacation mid-July. At that point, I will either start to release my queue or start to fill my queue up with writing. Ultimately I want to get my inbox numbers to low double digits and my drafts to single digits. How quickly I do that will depend on my own spoons and if I've gotten my writing spirit back to normal again.
Like I said, you are more than welcome to grab my discord, shoot me an IM here, or whatever you'd like, cause I'm willing to play around that way. I just... can't seem to write anything I feel good about as of late and I think I just need a break. Sending u all the spoons and inspo in the world y'alls way!

This is not me trying to say I wanna leave the rp scene or anything like that. I guess... I'm just feeling burnt out? Like the words aren't coming to me as quickly as I would like them to. I'm finding myself preferring to read or play video games or cook versus being on my computer. So I feel like that's a sign for me to maybe take a small step away for a couple weeks to cleanse and get back into the swing of things. Because there's soooooo much I want to interact with and answer to, but it feels more like I'm trying to do a rope climb instead of sliding down a slide for coming up with replies. Maybe it's because of burnout or that I have to have my apartment at like 80 degrees despite the crazy heatwave. Regardless, my head has been elsewhere and I can't exactly pinpoint a reason for it just yet.
That said, I might just go full pause, still write in my free time and fill up my queue until the majority of my asks and threads have been answered. And then just rain hell on you guys /j
I won't likely close the inbox but I definitely cannot start anything new until what I have has been mostly answered. Anyone can (obviously) still reply to things that you owe me and I'll still plan to reply to them. You're more than welcome to message me still, plots or just to say hi or send me a vid or some music, I just think I might have to rethink how I'm approaching these rps moving forward.
Again, I have no means of giving up on this blog (that won't happen, I refuse to) but I thought I'd share where my own headspace is at and we'll see where we go from here.

How long has it been since their schedules aligned for a night like this ? Skipping the night out for an evening in with candlelit dinners and soft music. Still savoring the last of their meals, Ojiro holds one hand in hers, another around her waist as they gently sway to the melody that lulls them into warmth only felt when together. Though her features often remain transparent, he knows they share the same expression to one another. His smile is gentle, simper soft & lovestruck as he pulls her in close to himself.
He knows her well. The way he tilts his head just right to know where to meet invisible eyes with his own. The ability to take her hand without a second grasp to find it. And somehow, knowing where exactly to find her lips with his, kissing her in slow, meaningful fashion as the song plays along well into the rest of their night.

Ne Zha's relationship with Li Jing is a complex relationship that I'll keep workshopping and properly explain given some extra time and research but for now, this is my whole thoughts on their current relationship. For the record, I am mixing the way mythology describes their relationship and what we see in LMK S5 into my general portrayal/Ne Zha's view of his dad. But the gist of this post is to say that Ne Zha is (unfortunately) under Li Jing's command at just about any given moment and there's nothing that's really going to change that. Even as he's gone against his father, it was with good reason and the sake of the world. He is unlikely to have that happen again unless such stakes are present once more.
Just as a general tag and covering my bases, tw abuse mention (more emotional/mental) / questionable discipline methods
There are doors with Ne Zha's insignia (a lotus) designed on the walls, which I will stretch a little bit and say he had spent some time (at least a few separate occasions) in there. Majority of his time spent in there was due to the early strife between father & son shortly after the revival of Ne Zha. Li Jing was not happy to have his son's life returned to the living after Ne Zha sacrificed himself to restore peace and prevent harm from being inflicted on his family. In addition to the overall rage Li Jing experienced when Lady Yin attempted to build a shrine for her son, only for it to be destroyed by his father's hand. It was only the divine intervention and creation of the pagoda that Li Jing use it to control Ne Zha. After all, he was still an unruly child. A child that needed to be disciplined.
"To effectively restrain Nezha, Randeng Daoren taught Li Jing how to use the golden tower art to trap Nezha within a burning tower if opposed. Thus, Li Jing became known as Li the Pagoda Bearer."
Taken more so from wikipedia's rendition of the story, Li Jing was not opposed to disciplining Ne Zha enough to generate complete compliance by keeping him in there. A once disobedient, unruly, trouble-causing child now awaits hand and foot at his father's command. Li Jing would most likely view it as just disciplining his child until he learned how to "properly behave," ultimately not seeing the flaws in the method so long as it worked in the end. Not to mention that, compared to the previous two sons he has, Ne Zha was just the worst out of all three.
The Pagoda experience is the reason he restrains his full potential. In addition to the personality change. Mainly meant to appease his father and the need to "grow up" the longer he's alive as a deity. Despite it all though, there does exist that longing for the approval of his father and there is still love for him, as it's been that way when he was very young, but it was never properly reciprocated by his father as he got older due to the amount of trouble Ne Zha got in. Now that Li Jing is giving some signs of approval and love and pride now that Ne Zha is behaving... well, he unfortunately clings for more.
The hatred for his father has long died out, originating from a more frustrated place and eventually let go, he does hold some resentment towards the way he was treated to illicit his compliance to his father from time to time. For the most part, he feels he must follow his father's command with no question. However, there will be times he does oppose an order by his father (granted with great reluctance to stand up to him, lest he return to the pagoda). He understands the power his father has and how easily it is to be held in there. He's never successfully escaped when he was put in there. He understands his lesson is that it's wrong to want to kill his father (it wouldn't resolve anything) and given his power, perhaps entrapment was the only way he could get Ne Zha to listen and calm down. He hated the experience, but has made sense to why. (This doesn't necessarily mean this was the best nor the only method).
He doesn't talk about it. Nor would he be open to talking about it if prompted (if not severely downplay it). Only people that have survived the pagoda could potentially infer that Ne Zha was within the walls at some point, but nothing more. He has not personally entered into it in quite some time, and given the events of season 5 did fear that streak would end when letting the group get away and trying to bring peace between two parties that he deeply cares for..
Outside of the areas where they have to work together to strengthen the celestial army or anything pertaining to the security and safety to the realm, Ne Zha doesn't have a strong personal relationship with him, but Li Jing has relied on using Ne Zha to complete certain tasks that has garnered some positive feedback from him and rebuilding the trust between them. It's more likely they associate the more "professional" relationship as their personal one.
Of course, Li Jing believes that he's now raised an properly obedient son to assist the celestial realm by protecting it. He's a man that is not immediately impressed and quickly hones in on the failures of his son. In an effort to "fix" any potential future mistakes one may make. The loss of the Samadhi Fire map & the destruction of his temple was definitely a conversation topic in the aftermath of things. He was ordered to reside in the family home until repairs were finished (to which Ne Zha would not object to). If he sees Ne Zha is failing in a task, he will do the dad thing and just make him go home while he "fixes Ne Zha's mess." Usually ending with Ne Zha pushing/begging his dad to let him handle it & make up for his mistakes.
Flexibility
That thing Zane does in Ninjaball Run made me wonder how much robot-related stuff he already knew he could do before Tick Tock, but shrugged off as normal.

Though it's not mentioned in canon (and honestly, like most big ass scars that don't happen to the main character), Jimbei does have a huge burn scar from Akainu from the events at Marineford. When dealt with a piercing blow that inevitably hits Luffy, he also suffered extreme burns externally and internally. I would say following that attack, getting rescued by the Heart Pirates, and finally escaping Marineford, most of the long-term issues he would have had were at least somewhat mitigated by Law's abilities to patch himself and Luffy to a stable state.
Kinda based on placement, it did hit a lot of muscle, but also clearly hit bone and at least a portion of his lung as well. And (he'll say this with some shame in his voice, though it was expected to happen) he passed out from the sheer pain & blood loss from that ordeal. The aftermath did require some physical therapy, but by the end of the timeskip, he returned to his full strength and continued to get stronger with his crew.
He doesn't attempt to conceal or hide this scar by any means, and much like the brand on the front of his chest, it does sort of peek out from his kimono from time to time.
