Unpopular opinion but if Mira and Zoey are considered "bad friends" for Rumi because they raised their weapons at her, then Rumi's just as bad for them because she hurt them a lot throughout the movie.
I've seen a lot of people call Mira and Zoey bad friends because they raised their weapons at Rumi, but in my opinion, they were as much victims as her.
Now hear me out, Mira and Zoey have just seen demons disguise as Bobby, and then they were met with their friend who turns out to have patterns, and their first thought was to give Rumi a chance to explain.
Mind you, they didn't know if Rumi had made a deal with Gwi-ma or if she was already like this or how long she's been hiding this secret. And keep in mind that this was a HUGE secret to keep from the two people who are supposed to be your teammates and best friends and fight demons beside you.
Also, let's not forget that Mira already had her own trauma, and so did Zoey. They were burdened as well, but do they get mad at Rumi for being a demon? No. They were mad because Rumi had kept such a secret from them. From their perspective, the first thing they might think was that every moment spent together was a lie and they were never true friends to begin with.
And yet they only raised their weapons when Rumi's outburst made the honmoon pink.
They were scared, confused, and betrayed, and yet they made no move to attack, only to defend in case Rumi lost control. If they wanted to kill her, they would've followed her.
"But Rumi's going to remember that they raised their weapons at her."
"How can Rumi trust them again after this?"
Alright, you're right. The moment will keep replaying in Rumi's head.
But we shouldn't forget that Rumi also hurt them a lot throughout the movie, I think some people forgot this.
First, Rumi pushed them past their limits and released Golden without consulting them. Then she ran off ten minutes before the show and left them to deal with the consequences.
Second, Rumi kept meeting with the enemy and putting herself and the team in danger.
Third, Rumi went on a day before the idol awards and declared she couldn't sing Takedown.
Fourth, Rumi caused a whole train of people to die and still wouldn't open up to her friends.
And there's a lot more but I think that's enough. Now if you look at it from Mira and Zoey's point of view, how can they trust Rumi's telling the truth now? What guarantees she's not off meeting someone behind their backs when she's late outside? How can they shake the feeling that all those years and memories were lies?
So, you see, I'm not blaming Mira and Zoey for their reaction. Same with Rumi, I'm not blaming her for her actions nor I'm justifying them.
I'm just saying it is what it is. But blaming Mira and Zoey because they should've had a "different reaction" is unfair because if we're going by this then Rumi should've trusted them and told them the truth years ago.
