Only just saw the anime like 3 days ago with my sister, and we've just finished the 2 movies as well yesterday.

One of my favorite aus, not for its catalyst but rather for its progression. The manner in which the dorm transfer would happen is entirely expected: the students of Scarabia don’t trust Jamil and Azul gives him an offer just too good to pass up. Freedom of expression, power, and opportunity to show off his culinary excellence, an offloading of the duties relating to his care of Kalim, and all he asks in return is his company and professional insight. Very canon divergent in that it would never happen due to Jamil’s general distrust in Azul but when the contract is written out and all the terms come with a list of clear definitions, it’s a hard deal to pass.

Over time the two of them would grow significantly closer, which was ultimately Azul’s plan in making him sign the contract because he’s obsessively in love with him. Certain boundaries would come undone, vulnerabilities would be on display. Jamil deserves to see Azul’s vulnerabilities, after all, he really does not know much about the guy. Through consistent contact it wouldn’t be hard to recognize some of the things wrong with him. Jamil has, unfortunately, developed quite the tendency to care for others and Azul can be quite stubborn about taking care of himself. I was actually thinking about maybe writing a one shot in which they discuss this dynamic and uncover some of each other’s struggles.

Finally, being removed from Kalim Jamil would have to work on his enmeshment issues. He still has to interact with Kalim when they interact but he doesn’t have to constantly worry about him and that’s weird. It’s difficult, moving on from an abusive relationship of this nature and he’d be given adequate space to do that, as well as active encouragement from Azul on this front. Azul Ashengrotto isn’t the type of guy who would let enmeshment happen in his relationships because he is so absolutely guarded and stubborn, Jamil wouldn’t be able to absorb Azul into his sense of self the way he was forced to with Kalim. Really, the most interesting thing to do with Jamil is remove him from Kalim and watch him fall apart trying to figure out who he is on his own.

They try to break into the vault by having jamil say he wants to transfer dorms and everything and distracting azul and the tweels(he did not agree to any of this but kalim said they had to help yuu and the others bc they did save all their lives(he might be enjoying himself))

Jamil is judging everyone bc he had no scarbia students sign a deal with azul for the study guides and the fact he has to go be bait for azul(which he didn't think would work but azul is obsessed with him) is irksome

But also azul and Jade and Floyd treat him better than a lot of the other characters do, esp after jamils overblot(is he having a personal crisis about it? Yes he is)

Azul overblotting bc grim or ace or someone blows jamils cover after the contracts get destroyed and azul/jade/floyd are HELLA BETRAYED(jade suspected jamil was up to something and Floyd didn't really care but jamil does feel guilty about it)

Jamil comforting azul after the battle and yeah he doesn't join the octaniville house but he does hang out there more

Also having jamil see azuls overblot form and being flustered about it(also his and the tweels mer forms)
