I’ve not read Gerald’s Game so I can’t speak for the faithfulness of the adaptation from novel to screen but Mike Flanagan has created something special. Had me squirming from the get-go and that feeling didn’t stop until the credits rolled. Carla Gugino’s performance is superb. Great script, well cut and just overall really impressive.

You're Not You Anymore by Counterparts absolutely rips and is one of my favourite albums of this year. So many highlights but shout out to Arms Like Teeth, Thieves and Rope in particular. Do yourself a solid and listen to this.  

Music to grit your teeth to. 

I don’t know about you but towards the end of its sixth season I began to fall out of love with Game of Thrones. Battle of the Bastards aside, I found myself trudging through episodes every week only to be left disappointed. However, last night’s season seven premiere was a step in the right direction. Aside from an incredibly jarring cameo, it felt like the show was back on track. Hopefully it stays this way.   

Massively enjoying jumping back into Crash Bandicoot after all these years. The N Sane Trilogy is a gorgeous recreation of the original games. Much tougher than I remember though. Platinum trophies are going to be hard to come by.  

Best Spider-Man movie I’ve seen and perhaps one of my favourite MCU films to date. 

Breezed through the second season of All or Nothing. Fascinating to go behind the scenes when things aren’t going so well. What a show. 

Gotta light?

Enjoyed We Are Still Here a lot. Hugely underrated.

Beyond stoked for the SNES Classic. One of my favourite consoles of all time packed with some of the best games the system had to offer. Sure, I would have loved Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest and Chrono Trigger but you can’t argue with what’s included. Good to know that the controller cords are going to be slightly longer too - approximately five feet according to IGN. Got to keep my eye out for pre-orders now.
