small group of college students who becomes the sole link the autobots have to humanity and have to learn the importance of responsability along the way and figure out what they truly want to do with their lives
13-to-17 troubled child who, and this is very important, develop a familial relationship with giant robots from outer space. (bonus points if they're decepticons for once) (bonus bonus points if this turns into a crossfaction found family)
overworked single mother whose old car just recently broke down on top of multitudes of other problems and when life gives you a free random brightly-colored lamborghini, you welcome it into your family when it turns into a friendly war criminal who invites its friends over
elderly man living away from civilization who accidentally has to adopt a couple of millions of years old robots, occasionally exchanges nuggets of wisdom with Optimus Prime

I’ve had an idea for an Armada remake given the early IDW1 treatment that would focus on a girl in her teens on the run. We never find out WHY she isn’t with a family, just that she’s been on her own for over a year. She defends a mini-con and the Autobots let her live at their base. In contrast to TFP Ratchet not learning anything about treating humans his decade or so on earth, Red Alert spends like, an entire 24 hours speed-reading everything there is to know about human health. He enters “dad mode” and makes sure she’s eating and sleeping enough, designs an entire arm attachment for dental work, etc.
Smokescreen- “Hey uh, is she okay?”
Red Alert- “She’s in stasis lock. Regular stasis intervals are required for her survival.”
“Yeah, but shouldn’t she be hooked up to a recharge slab or something?”
“Humans recharge themselves.”
“...woah.”
