Emergence

Her body felt heavy, yet her movements seemed lighter

As if she was underwater

Gasping for air

She lifted her arms to see the blurry image of mutating flesh

The growths around her wrists swayed like an anemone 

Sickly and dreamy

Her blood was cold

The crystalline colors flowed through her body like heavenly mist

And shined within her translucent skin

Her skin cells now sparkle in the light of the sun

As they can no longer take in its warmth

Her pathetic whimpers filtered through ghostly whispers

And her painful cries only expressed through angelic hymns

With no heaven to answer

Her body became a stone cold shell of what it used to be

Deprived of comfort and sweet release

Haunted by the reflection of her expressionless face
