He keeps some of his work, but he makes way more sculptures than he and Grace could ever store in one house, so they end up selling the rest. And Simon's sculptures are in HUGE demand in Eridian society. Even the worst of his first attempts are snatched up like precious treasures.

Like, you know how some zoos let their animals do art and then they sell the results? And its squiggles and stuff that a toddler could make, but it was done by an elephant, so that makes it so much cooler? It's kinda like that with Simon's art, but even MORE special because it was made by an ALIEN. Sure, a pebble half Simon's age could have made something even smoother and more structurally sound, but this is art from an ALIEN. A short-lived alien. That makes it crazy valuable.

And it's not like Simon needs any Eridian money! Their every need is already being catered to by the Eridians. So whatever compensation he gets for his art goes towards the biodome's maintenance. And those sculptures bring in a LOT of Eridian dough. More than enough for maintenance costs and providing everything that Grace and Simon need to live comfortably.

[CAPTION I POSTED QUITE LITERALLY YESTERDAY ON INSTA LMAO]: The old men returns!!! I just love the idea that that just end up growing old together in their little retirement dome. I feel like they’d be in like their mid 60’s. I also feel like Simon is a lot more healthier than Grace because he both works out regularly and is the one (my headcanon) that preps and cooks their meals. Grace is pretty unhealthy with his lack of exercise and terrible sleeping schedule so he lost a lot of muscle and starts having some balancing issues which Rocky noticed immediately LMAO. I feel like that’s why he has his cane :P

Also I liked the headcanon that Grace starts actually speaking Eridian after a long time living on Erid and I feel like Simon is also the same, they’ll speak English once in awhile but after living on Erid for so long and constantly interacting with the Eridians everyday they start to like switch to that and it becomes their norm ig.

Edit (I’m adding this cause I was talking to a friend about this LMAO): I feel like Grace does the whole “let me carry you while I still can” cause he doesn’t have that much upper body strength anymore to hold all the pebbles up like he used to. Simon still loves to carry the pebbles whenever he gets the chance to and feels very sad whenever they start growing up, he just tries to hide it behind a stoic face (Grace can immediately read that he’s emotional tho lololol)

I also feel like they had gotten married around their forties or smt so it’d probably be like somewhere near the 24th-25th anniversary…? Eh who cares LOVELY OLD GAY COUPLE YEAAHHHH 💥💥💥‼️‼️‼️‼️
