She’d leaned a bit awkwardly back against the bar to try to pull off a bit of a ‘cool guy’ lean, “Did you hear about the guy who got hit in the head with a can of soda? He was lucky it was a soft drink.”

“I guess I have just never been satisfied,” he said with a shrug. “So tell me, are you actually any good?”

“Oooh, well don’t let me stop you...” Nia said sarcastically, rolling her eyes as her hands went up in mock surrender. “Wouldn’t you rather judge for yourself?”

“Actually yes, you always zing me where it hurts. And I’m pretty sure the entirety of Kent as well. Zing Queen.” He teased with a chuckle. “No I’m not. Do you really wanna go through all that heartache again? I know I don’t. Oh wow, is this why you canceled me to pick her up a couple of days ago? You’re sabotaging our bonding time.”

“Zing Queen? Now that’s a new title I could get used to. I hope I never zing you too hard, though.” She said, laughing softly. “Actually, I canceled that because I was afraid of seeing you again,” Nia shrugged, turning her face to the ground.

“Don’t take this the wrong way, but I really have to go now. I’m allergic to bullshit.”
