Hello there! I'm Tara, and here's a little bit about me: mexican girl in her twenties, sometimes a writer, sometimes an editor... or sometimes a procrastinator. I don't usually write 18+ scenes, though that doesn't mean I never do (wink)… however, I tend to tackle mature or complex themes in my writing (nothing grotesque or weird). I'm currently focused on writing for Star Wars characters, maybe a little more with Cassian Andor, oops...

All of them? Choosing one is difficult... and unfair.

Perhaps I can name my favorite editions of each character—my favorite profile is Varian's for the aesthetic, Syril's blog is hilarious, Mon's magazine is iconic and the Ronni/Varian conversation is the icing on the cake.

I still have two more characters to edit, and I'm very excited to continue expanding this little experiment and for it to continue to be enjoyed by everyone. <3

🟥 How long do you spend in edits?

Quite a while. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which means that sometimes it's helpful and other times it's a hindrance. For Born Ready, it's taken me almost a year to edit the first chapter, and I haven't even been able to publish it.

As a tip, the best thing to do would be to write down everything that comes to mind and then start putting the ideas together, seeing what you discard and what you keep. How developed your characters and setting are also very important, because your fanfic is based on this.

🤩 What's the most meaningful comment you've ever received?

Every comment means something to me, as long as it's something positive, of course (even a simple vote or kudo). It's a nice feeling to read that someone liked what you wrote or that they show you support to continue. Keep in mind that even a small comment, even if it's just to say that you like something, greatly pleases and motivates the writer.

🙊 Your coworkers or classmates stumble across one of your fics, but don't know you're the author. Do you fess up? Or keep quiet?

HAHAHA GOD—

I haven't been through a situation like that, but I would definitely talk and say “hey, it's really me” just to discuss the fanfic. I've been writing since high school, and many of my classmates—or rather, close friends—read what I wrote... and it's not even something I'm proud of now. I really enjoy talking about it and reading opinions; I appreciate them. <3

🎭 What genre of writing comes easiest to you

Definitely drama and angst; they both go hand in hand for me. I've always loved description, exploring the setting, the characters, and their inner thoughts—what's going on inside them. And well, as a mexican, I grew up watching telenovelas, which says it all (lol). I also love the tropes of slow burn and strangers to lovers, to explore the process of two people getting to know each other + the adversities.

🎵 Do you make playlists for your fics?

I can't write without music or something in the background, so it's a resounding yes. I try to create a playlist for each story, with songs or soundtracks (I love soundtracks with all my heart). Most of them are on my Spotify.

🙌 What's a line or paragraph of yours that you're proud of?

Oh my...

I have many lines or paragraphs saved that I clearly love and treasure. I could mention them all, but I'll leave a couple here:

🤔 What are some words or phrases you find yourself overusing?

Interesting... I think they are narrative crutches to connect ideas. Since I write in Spanish, because it is my native language, I aim directly at it—suddenly, then, however, nevertheless... I suppose it changes a bit when you try to translate it into English.

I've also repeated certain descriptions. Not exactly a copy and paste, but rather reusing the idea when describing a feeling or something the character is perceiving, but of course, it depends a lot on what kind of character it is, because a feeling is different in each one.

🍎 What's something you learned while researching for a fic?

Several things, some more interesting than others, but equally important. Mainly, I learned about creating and structuring a character to make it three-dimensional and feel real. I suppose that's the essential thing. Secondly, they are usually medical terms, either from a surgical procedure or a mental condition, to accurately describe it, and of course, maintaining a certain consistency for those who actually deal with it.

Every time I do research, it makes me laugh because I end up writing half a thesis, but I guess it's a good thing. I don't like to take these things lightly.

🎬 One of your fics gets turned into a TV series. Which one is it and what network is it on?

Haha I don't know... I mean, I write fanfics based on TV series or movies; it's weird to think about it.

Of course, I recognize that there are much better written works that offer different perspectives or try to expand on what is already known, and that is appreciated. To say that I would adapt any of my fanfics into a television series would be, in my opinion, a bit egocentric of me... but I would definitely prefer an independent network.

Without going into too much detail, Fulcrum was a codename within a spy network under Rebel Intelligence. It was first mentioned in The Clone Wars series and later in Rebels, usually associated with Ahsoka Tano.
