At the Battle of Agincourt, the English army had been bogged down by disease and dysentery, but they fought on (with their hoses down).
Inktober Day 9. The Tokoloshe, a small malevolent spirit in South African folklore. It is said that the only way to keep it away at night is to raise the bed with bricks under each post.
Modern & Medieval: A Love Story (with a slight chance of beheading).
Inktober Day 8. Mai Bhago, The Warrior Kaur. Fought to defend Sikhs against the Mughal armies. During the Battle of Muktsar in 1705, she rallied forty deserters and lead them into battle herself; they died fighting to become the Chali Mukte, the Forty Liberated Ones. She survived the battle and later became Guru Gobind Singh's bodyguard, donning male attire and armour.
Urban-Druid-Ranger-Detective.
Future D&D character?

Inktober Day 7. Lady Hangaku, an onna-bugeisha who fought in the Genpei War; during the late Heian period of Japan. Her family fought on the side of the Taira clan against the Minamoto clan. She lead a defense at Torisakayama, commanding 3,000 against an enemy army of 10,000. Wounded by an arrow and then captured, the defense soon fell. Said to be "fearless as a man and beautiful as a flower", and to have carried a naginata spear-sword.
Inktober Day 6. Khutulun, blood of the Great Khan. Said to be able to ride into the enemy ranks and snatch a captive like a hawk snatches a chicken. She challenged any suitor to defeat her in a wrestling match to win her love, taking their horse as a wager; it is said she gathered a herd near ten thousand. (Sad I didn't have enough space for the whole horse).
