Pretty good of an analysis. And well...

the fourth song of Hamilton musical, and I think it's one of the best songs not only in act I but in the entire play. It's often missed and people think it can't hold much meanings when it's so short. I know it has simple lyrics but guys, that's the point. It's not meant to blast u with big words.

I think it's short and simple because it symbolises Alex & the boys friendship. Lin knew friendships like that will be barely mentioned by historians. Nobody will talk about their group's dynamic no matter how deep it was. You can notice that in first notes of the song they already shift their positions, Alex is shown as the only one without a chair, because he's constantly in motion, Laurens soon steps aside what tells us that he'll leave soon;

They swap places, gesture to eachother, while repeating the same lyrics. The lyrics hold meanings too. "And when our children tell our story/they'll tell the story of tonight" – remember what I said about missing the friendship dynamic out during telling the stories? This line is a yearning to be remembered as they were, not just as what they did.
