Then we had the painful good bye between Wu Xie and Xiaoge and my tears came back again 😭😭😭😭 So we got the ten-year promise and Xiaoge went to the Bronze door in Wu Xie's stead. Who will guard the Bronze door after the ten years is up? Must be someone from Wu Xie's generation, so maybe Xiaohua?? Will this guarding duty ever end? It must have since we see both Wu Xie and Xiaoge in "Reunion: The Sound of Providence". So something must have happened to break the cycle. I see we have some novels left after volume 8 so I will read those as well.

There are some long explanations at the end about some of the missing pieces regarding the archelogical teams, switching identities, faking deaths, internal strifes, picking sides etc. I'm not sure if I understand it all but maybe you don't need to since it's in the past now. From what I can gather at least, someone wants to destroy the Zhang clan, making the mystic nine families turn against each other, which also leads to no one can or want to fulfill the oath of taking turns guarding the Bronze door. Xiaoge is not making this easier since he has a hereditary memory-loss due to his bloodline.

But still there are some mysteries that were not revealed, that I would like to know the answers to:

If the Bronze door needs guarding, then it must mean someone wants to know the secret behind it. Is this the "it" that Wenjing was talking about? Don't think this threat is gone yet.

So they raised Wu Xie by teaching him habits of Qi Yu, but why him and not anyone else from the archaeological team?

Who was the guy that was living under San Shu's house? Was it San Shu himself, since Xie Lianhuan is using his face and living in the house instead? But Wu Xie should recognise his voice.

Who was the fake Wu Xie that tried to kill Wu Xie at the mountain? That one who said he was on San Shu's side? That encounter was so weird.

Who was the "鬼影" with the collapsed shoulders? It's definitely someone from the archaeological team.

Who took the letter that was written by the underground person, that was going to tell the whole truth to Wu Xie?

Lots of lore about the Zhang family was dropped but Xiaoge's specific background is still unknown. First time finding out that "Zhang Qiling" isn't just a name, but a title. Only the chosen Zhang clan patriach will have the title Zhang Qiling and Xiaoge is the last one. I wonder at which age he was chosen? Fo ye's grandfather was the former Zhang Qiling and he was chosen when he was 19. So probably around that age?

Need to mention that "张家古楼" is a very, very very deadly place with all the Mi Luo Tos, puzzles and traps. This was indeed a very big project that took more than 1000 years to complete.

I also wonder if that dust that Wu Xie inhaled in "张家古楼" is a foreshadowing to his illness in "Reunion: The Sound of Providence", since this is not good for the lungs and his respiratory tract probably suffered some damage hmmmmm.
