So I saw this post two months ago but I just remembered it now again when I looked through my likes 😆 伊人睽睽 that wrote <Tigers Sniff the Rose> had a "very, very fanfiction-like, out-of-character dream about Yao Yao and Yan Shang." I'll just treat this as a short parallel universe story featuring Yao Yao and Yan Shang. It was cute!
Translation:
(cont.) It has almost nothing to do with the original novel's background. In the dream, our Yao Yao became autistic, never speaking, doing nothing but spacing out. The Emperor, the Empress, and her brother were not dead and all of them doted on her. Then, when Yan Shang took the imperial examination, Yao Yao's brother took Yao Yao there to watch. Yao Yao just glanced at Yan Shang once, her brother immediately became excited! Because his younger sister has autism! She never looks at anyone outside her family; that extra glance might be the key to her treatment! Then the Emperor and his whole family became very excited, it was almost a forced arrangement to place Yan Er in the position of Tan Hua Lang (third rank in the imperial examinations), making him serve the Crown Prince in the palace.
Yan Er thought he was really there to serve the Crown Prince, but he discovered his daily task was to play with Yao Yao. The Emperor's family treated him like a nanny. Anyone else would have broken down, perhaps even resigning. But who is Yan Er? He already found it strange that he passed the imperial examination with his talent, and now everything makes sense. Besides, our Yao Yao is so well-behaved and adorable, how cold-blooded would he have to be to abandon her and leave? That wouldn't be like him. He focused on caring for Yao Yao, being like a nanny, spending his free time reading to accumulate knowledge for future opportunities. After all, being by the princess's side, the Emperor's family of three would come visit whenever they had the chance, and they were extremely pleased with him.
Then one day, while Yao Yao was eating, he unintentionally, accidentally kissed her. Yao Yao not only looked at him but also started talking to him. The Emperor and his family were overjoyed and kept asking him how he had done it. He, of course, would never tell. But from then on, if he wanted Yao Yao to acknowledge him, he had to kiss her, haha. As they spent every day together, Yao Yao's condition gradually improved and she was even willing to help Yan Er by offering him a position in the court.
But one time, the Crown Prince accidentally saw Yan Er and Yao Yao kissing, and his world crumbled. He thought this person had questionable character, capable of harming an autistic child (in her brother's eyes, Yao Yao's intelligence was forever stuck in infancy), he separated them and sent Yan Er away.
Then, our brave Yao Yao, who didn't quite understand what happened, wanted to see Yan Er, but given her autism, she found it difficult to express her thoughts. So she silently gathered her strength and worked diligently to cure her illness, all so she could leave the palace to find Yan Er.
Once, when Yan Er returned to the capital to report on his duties, Yao Yao overheard that news from her brother. Her brother thought she couldn't understand, but she actually did; she just didn't want to communicate with people. Yao Yao then left the palace on her own. Her family became frantic (when they found out). Yao Yao got lost and all sorts of things happened, but she did find Yan Er.
At this point in the dream, I felt sorry for the star-crossed lovers, then suddenly realized it was a dream, a really ooc dream, and woke up. Even though I laughed for a long time after waking up because of the ooc dream, I still think it's cute, so I'm posting it here for everyone to laugh at. Please don't scold me; I already said it was ooc it's just that dreams are beyond my control. #KuiKui'sDreamSeries #KuiKui'sBrainstorming
