Dazzle-ships in Drydock at Liverpool by Edward Wadsworth, 1919
Hello Mr. Boot, you appear to have been reblogged in sticker form on a city bus in Reykjavík, Iceland
OH MY GOD?
The Titanic disaster occurred on April 15, 1912, with Harry Elkins Widener ‘07 among the victims. Widener Library is a memorial to the young book collector.

Wreck and Sinking of the Titanic A dramatic account of the disaster and its aftermath, including a “list of the dead,” the entire book is available online at the catalog link.
An Unsinkable Titanic: every ship its own lifeboat Written after the disaster, this book critiques the build of the massive vessel, comparing it to other ships including what the author calls the safest passenger ship ever built, the Great Eastern, launched 1858.

Widener Memorial Room, 1915
As many of our followers know, Widener Library owes its existence to the tragic death of a young Harvard alum who went down with the Titanic. The core of the library, as designed by Harry’s mother, is this room which holds Harry’s extensive rare book collection. To see what the Memorial Room looks like today, check out this Harvard Gazette article from last year (we’ve featured it before because it’s packed with gorgeous images) and the official online exhibit for the Widener Memorial Collection, which includes images of and information about Harry’s time at Harvard, the Titanic voyage, the Memorial Room as well as Harry’s books.
That beautiful wood floor is not gone- it’s just preserved beneath an equally beautiful carpet, nearly lost to us in the 2000-2004 renovation until traditional weavers were found. Check out the links to see it!
Have you ever drawn the interior of Titanic before? What would be your favorite room to draw?
Hi Anon! I have! I used to regularly update a small Titanic comic called "Admiral"
Your home for the world’s most exciting and diverse web comics and novels. Discover stories you’ll love from all genres, only on Tapas!
I'd definitely say that my favorite space to draw was the grand staircase!
Here's some highlights!

Do you think these would be better for postcards or prints? Maybe a third option i hadn't considered?

I went to Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition in Boston today, and my favorite part was towards the beginning when I unsuspectingly turned a corner and found myself in a first class stateroom hallway.
I cannot begin to describe how uncanny it was. For a split second, I swear I could feel the floor rocking under me.
