White America has always hated Black hair. And they seem to take joy in causing pain, in degrading, and in demoralizing Black bodies, Black men, and Black women.

Damon Landor is a man who has been a Rastafarian for over 20 years. Rastafarianism is a religion, and growing his hair is part of that faith. For more than 20 years, he wore dreadlocks. Imagine growing your hair for over 20 years, only to be arrested over something petty and sentenced to a very short time in prison. Then racist white prison guards decide that your hair and your religion offend them. So they handcuff you to a chair, hold your head as you scream, and shave it while laughing at you, laughing at your pain, your suffering, your humiliation.
