New Basement

We’re closing the door on the basement renovation blog. Thanks to our pros: M Design Build (general contractor), J. Allen (carpentry), Budiac Plumbing, Fuchs HVAC and Hartlaub HVAC, Electrical Concepts, GEN III Woodworks, Don Soderberg Painting, Donovan Mirror and Glass, Nu Floor, Precision Audio, Wells Design, and Lakeside Stoneworks.

We’ve started moving stuff into storage spaces, like the cedar coat closet, in the basement.

With the weather warming up, we brought out the dehumidifier in the basement. It’s set to 50% humidity and placed to be mostly hidden by the trundle table.

Electrical Cabinet Fix: We mostly passed the final inspection for the basement. The building inspector has one fix for the electrician: a breaker needs to be changed for lighting in the electrical cabinet. That fix should occur next week.

Our basement inspection was scheduled for today with our general contractor, but we don’t know if we passed the final inspection.

Lovesac — the source of our sectional furniture in the basement — introduced a wedge seat to add curves to your furniture.

The painter finished touch-ups in the basement.

Half-bath: On the first floor, the powder room has a toilet and sink (two fixtures).

The electrician visited this week to address the basement’s hard-wired smoke/CO detectors.
