“Don’t you think you’re too young to look after a new born baby, Y/N?” Your mother interrogated you, trying her best to put you off the idea.

“Mum, Y/B/F/N wanted me to be a mother to Zoe, this is what  she wanted and this is what she is going to get. You and everyone else keep trying to put me off this idea and quite frankly, I am getting fed up! I’m 18 for crying out loud!” You argued, getting angry.

“Y/N, you have to realise that being a mother to a new born baby comes with many responsibilities, It’s not going to be easy, you know.” She said in a calm but stern voice.

“Don’t you think I know that already? It’s just that I want to make Y/B/F/N happy, she wanted me to look after Zoe and I’m going to make that happen. Yes, I know that I am still young but, if you would just give me a chance to show that I can be a good mother, that’s all I am asking for.” You tried to reason her.

“It’s just that I don’t want you to grow up, you’re my baby girl.” She hugged you.

“I’ll always be your baby girl no matter if I'm a parent or not.”

Two years. It’s been two whole years since you've became a mother to Zoe. Of course it was hard at the start, the sleepless nights, constant feeding and nappy changes but, it was all worth it. You love Zoe and everyone could see it. At first, your mother was still doubtful about you being a mother to a child who wasn't yours, I mean who wouldn't? But soon she could see how great of a mother you truly are to Zoe, she even thinks that you were even better than her when she first became a mother. You always made sure that Zoe never left your sight 24/7, maybe you’re just being too protective? You just don’t want to let anyone down, especially Y/B/F/N, knowing that she is watching from above. 

You also can’t believe that it’s nearly been two years since you have lost your best friend, it doesn't help that Zoe represents her mother so much, same brown eyes, same giggle and the same smile. But it also made it easier you know? She constantly occupied you and always made you smile, she was such a sweet little girl.

“Are you sure, mum?” You asked, checking to make sure if it’s okay again.

“Yes, go have fun! Do whatever 20 year old’s do!” Your mother said, ushering you towards the door.

“Okay, don’t forget to feed her at 5′o'clock, bath her around 6 and make sure that she’s asleep by 7.” You reminded her, grabbing your clutch.

“Don’t worry Hun, I am a mother too and besides I love looking after this little one.” She cooed tickling Zoe, making her let out a loud giggle.

“I know you do.” You said smiling, hugging your mum and hugging Zoe.

“Say bye to your mummy.” Your mother cooed to her.

“Bye bye mummy!” She said, gigging and waving her hand.

“Bye!” You said, before walking out of your apartment.

You walked to the nearest club, still unsure that this is a good idea. You rarely leave without Zoe with you and when you do, it’s your family forcing you to leave and have a good night out. It’s not that you don’t want to do what people do at your age, you would love to do those things but, since you've became a mother you just didn't have the time any more. Sure you had friends and family who are more than willing to look after Zoe, but you didn't want to keep bugging them to look after her when you’re more than capable to do so. 

When you got there, you were instantly greeted with the loud thump of the music and people dancing. You made your way to the bar and ordered yourself a beer and sat down on the red barstool. Sighing, you took a large sip of the cool beverage, looking around the place seeing people having a good time. You turned back around and noticed a man sitting next you, ordering himself a beer. He must've felt someone staring at him and looked to his left and saw you. ‘Great, now he thinks I'm a creepy stalker.’ You thought to yourself, taking another sip of your beer suddenly interested at the sports game playing on the TV on the wall.

“I'm Ashton.” The mystery man smiled, offering his hand for you to shake.

“Nice to meet you Ashton, I'm Y/N.” You greeted back, shaking his larger hand.

“Busy day, eh?” He asked, noticing your large glass of beer.

“You mean busy life? You could say that.” You chuckled.

“Busy how? If you don’t mind me asking.” Ashton said.

“Well seeing as I am a mother to a two year old, you could say that I have a very busy life.” You replied, shaking your head.

“She must be lucky to have a mother like you.” He complemented making you blush.

“Thanks, that means a lot to me. I always want to give Zoe what’s best in life since I’m not her birth mother who sadly past away after giving birth to her.” You said smiling softly.

“Well I bet you that she’s looking down on you and thinking that she’s glad to have you being a mother to Zoe.” He smiled, making you smile and look down.

“Thank you.”

It’s been a couple of months since you met Ash at that club. He asked you for your number that night and you two really hit it of ever since, constantly texting and calling each other, you even met up a few times.

Today, you asked Ashton to come round to your apartment meeting Zoe for the first time. You were nervous, what happens if she don’t like Ash? You tidied the place top to bottom, picking up the numerous of toys off the floor. You had informed to Zoe that you’re bringing a friend over to meet her and she seemed happy, she loved meeting new people.

A knock at the door made you jump. Ashton is here. You held Zoe on your hip as you answered the door.

“Hey, you must be princess Zoe am I correct? I’m Ash, your mummy’s friend” Ashton greeted Zoe, smiling,

She giggled in response, making grabby hands at him.

“She must like you.” You smiled, closing the door behind Ashton.

“You really think so?” He asked, bouncing Zoe.

“Yep, she always wants to be picked up by the person she likes.” You smiled, walking on the kitchen.

“Do you like me Zo?” He asked her.

“Yeah!” She giggled, playing with his hair.

Luke: Turn away, if you could get me a drink, of water ‘cause my lips are chapped and faded.

You laid on the hospital bed with Luke sitting beside you, no words were spoken, just quietness. Luke sat holding your hand, rubbing circles with his thumb, trying to comfort you. “Luke?” You croaked out, breaking the silence. “Yes, baby?” He asked softly, his blue eyes scanning your pale face. “Could you get me a drink of water, please?” You asked, feeling your lips were very dry and chapped. “Of course, darling.” Luke responded, smiling softly at you, pressing a kiss on your forehead, before getting up from the uncomfortable hard chair and exiting the room. Sighing, you stared blankly at the white hospital ceiling, thinking. You hated feeling helpless, relying on other people to do simple daily tasks that you couldn't do any more. You hated feeling weak, you hated feeling vulnerable, you hated being stuck in the same hospital room for weeks, you despised it all. The only one thing which was stopping you from doing these things was, cancer.

Michael: Now turn away, ‘cause I’m awful just to see, ‘cause all my hairs abandoned all my body.

You have been in the bathroom for over an hour ago, staring at yourself in the mirror. Michael’s been trying to let himself him, only realising that you've locked the door. He has tried almost everything to let himself in, worrying about how you are and what’s taking you so long. You saw dark circles around your lifeless eyes, pale white skin, chapped thin lips and lastly, a head once full of hair was no longer there, as you stared back at your reflection. “Y/N? Please let me in? I’m worried about you.” Michael said, his voice cracking more with each word. “I-I can’t Michael.” You replied, feeling weak and vulnerable. “Yes you can Y/N.” Michael replied, determined. “N-No, I can’t, Mike.” You cried silently. “I’m awful just to see, all of my hair is gone, abandoned from my body, I just can’t let you see me any more.” You sobbed, making Michael’s heart shatter with every word. Suddenly, the door slammed open, making you jump. You were engulfed into a tight warm embrace, Michael just held your deteriorated state. “Baby, I don’t care about if you have hair or not. Hair doesn't change beauty, you being bald shows courage and strength, wear it with pride.” He said, kissing your lips, making you feel beautiful again.

Ashton: Oh my agony, know that I will never marry.

This wasn't supposed to happen, none of this was supposed to happen. You were supposed to marry your fiancé, Ashton next year, have children, grandchildren, grow old together and die together. But no, life couldn't make those accomplishments happen. It hurt you, agonised you inside and out, knowing that you will never marry the man of your dreams, the man who made you feel beautiful, the man who stood by you even through the darkest of times, the man who you loved more than anything on earth. You remember the day that Ashton asked you to marry you, it was the most happiest day of your life. You've spent hours talking, discussing your wedding plans with him, just days after he asked you. He would laugh at some of your ridiculous plans and how your eyes would light up and sparkle with new ideas. But, you don’t know how long you’ll live for, it could be days, weeks, months and even years, you just don’t know at the moment. “We had big plans, very big plans, Ash.” You cried out one night. “I know, I know, babe. We’ll get through this, I know we will.”

Calum: But counting down the days to go, it just ain't living.
