I don't know whether the same writers from TRR are still with the project, but in that series Maxwell was sweet, he was very empathetic, he was incredibly guilty about keeping Savannah and Bartie a secret, he tried his best, he was self-sacrificing, he wanted the best for his House, he loved Bertrand and worried about him, he thought the world of MC and Liam and Drake and Hana, he was actually smart and given very little credit for it, his father's words from when he was a child had hurt him deeply, he was so inwardly insecure about being known as the screwup, he was brave, he would call MC Little Blossom and try to brighten her day, if you picked him over Liam he didn't understand why, he wanted to take things slow because he was so worried about messing things up, he was gentle, he was openly emotional, he was kind...

He was fun and sometimes silly, yes, but he was never a one dimensional idiot, which is how it feels PB are trying to write him now.
