Mommy's Little Angel

Livy didn’t trust anyone easily. Much less when it came time to sleep. She had gotten used to so many raised voices and she just didn’t… Trust was hard for her to come by. Every once in a while she’d open those eyes before shutting them again. It takes a bit but she eventually falls asleep curled up in a ball, Georgie held close to her as if her little life depended on it.

It had taken him a while to get Livy to trust him enough to actually fall asleep on the couch, just when he’d think she was asleep she’d peak open a eye like she thought he’d leave. Or something equally horrible in her five year old mind. 

Livy didn't trust anyone easily. Much less when it came time to sleep. She had gotten used to so many raised voices and she just didn't... Trust was hard for her to come by. Every once in a while she'd open those eyes before shutting them again. It takes a bit but she eventually falls asleep curled up in a ball, Georgie held close to her as if her little life depended on it. 

"I haven’t heard from Mary in almost a month. She was supposed to call a week ago but never did and now this…" he rubbed at his mouth, mind reeling with everything that was happening. “Why would she keep a kid from me? I get that I wasn’t exactly reachable when she was born but jesus she’s been here more then enough times to tell me…" Steve couldn’t’ wrap his head around the fact that she’d kept this from him, even when they were separated by their father he’d made sure to call her and make sure she was alright. 

"I don’t know." Danny states with a frown. Steve had a point if he thought about it. Steve had always kept Mary in… well, he’d always made sure she was alright. Always let her know how everything was going here with him. With all of them. Though at the same time she was always getting into some kind of trouble too. 

Moving to stand beside the blond, he tucked his hands into his pockets watching Grace and the five year old. “No answer…" he mused without looking at the other. There was a tight knot of worry that settled in his chest and made itself at home beside the fear. 

It wasn’t that she’d had a problem with him picking her up. Just that she barely even knew him. So she takes his hand giving a small smile to Gracie and Danno. “Hi."

If looks could kill he would be dead several times over just in the last few minutes. “Gracie, will you take Olivia to the play area for a little bit? I need to talk to your dad." There was a small doubt in Steve’s mind that the girl would even want to go with Grace, but they were closer in age and it seemed like a better idea than keeping her tied to his leg. 

"Okay!" Gracie says giving her uncle Steve the brightest of smiles before taking Olivia’s hand. The poor girl not knowing what to think of all of this. To be honest it was too much at once for the little one. So Georgie the Seal just gets hugged tighter as she goes off to play with Grace.

"She’s not mine… not in the way you’re thinking" he nearly breathed out, dropping to crouch and run his fingers through his hair. “I don’t know the whole story, Danny. I don’t." There was barely any way to explain anything right now. It was screwed up and he had no idea what was going on at all.
