Nimura Furuta - Furuta(旧多) means “one day more” and Nimura (二福) means “2/29”. 

This is likely a reference to his birthday 2/29  which is a leap day that occurs once every four years. 

Technically if Furuta were to age up today he would be six years old, but since his birthday occurs only once every 4 years he’s actually 24. Roughly around the same age as Kaneki as Kaneki is 23 in the story’s current time and would be turning 24 this year.

Bloodtype AB, in japan bloodtype is commonly held to correspond with personality, type ABs are diplomatic and easy going. In Tokyo Ghoul Bloodtype can correspond with Kagune’s, and Rize and Kaneki are also type AB blood types.

He’s shown ties to the CCG, V, Sunlit Garden, Kanou, the Clowns, and the Ghoul Restaurant, as well as being related somehow to the Washuu name most likely as a bastard. 

His Quinque was a custom Tsunagi Bikaku, and he also used Rotten Follow a Rinkaku Kagune which was formerly in position of Kijima, and also made from Rio’s brother. He also seems capable of fighting with his bare hands just as easily.

In honor of Furuta’s birthday I’m going to attempt to discern his character with everything we’ve been given of his character so far. With the fact that he’s had his fingers in almost everybody’s pies, this will be a pretty extensive recap.
