I'm rereading the first book of Nevermoor and omg, I can't believe I didn't notice how shady the whole Wundersmith situation is. The history books don't want to mention Squall, his pictures were destroyed and stuff. Sure it could be just a taboo topic, but still, it's suspicious. It's like there's some piece of information they want to hide.
Plus, when Morrigan asks Kedgeree the reason why Squall did the massacre in Courage Square, Kedgeree "blinks" and says "For the power, I suppose". (Translated from the brazilian version, idk the original words). So basically, Squall's morivations are literally unknown, not even lied about.
Add this to the whole situation with Onstald (Is that his name?) spreading misinformation about Wundersmiths and it really starts to look like something is being hidden, especially from the public. The whole "Don't mention the Wundersmith" thing is serving a purpose, manipulating the public and discouraging research (at least outside of Wunsoc)
Or maybe I'm just overthinking again, idk.
