I love when ppl are like "aww autism is so cute" when ppl just say they're autistic without ever showing any symptoms accept for socially acceptable stuff. But as soon as ppl really show symptoms, they're like "nah the fuck you doing" and leave you thinking you're a bad person.

"Nobody is coming to save you" is #1 things I hate that ppl say to ppl who struggle. Like. Fuck you. You're definitely the one that needs to leave my life. Y'know, when somebody is drowning, they're doing the surviving, they still need somebody to do sth to them to actually survive. Ppl who struggle are in survival mode. They're already doing everything they can. They just sometimes need a little push that "saves" them. But y'all aren't even willing to check in on ppl or picking up the phone bc omg somebody could "trauma dump" on you, ew what a red flag 🤮
So of you struggle: Yes. Somebody will save you one day, it just won't be a big gesture or anything. It's probably more that there will be somebody who says one little word that changes everything.
And if you're not struggling: Be that person for someone. Being a human being means to sometimes be slightly uncomfortable for a very little while just so that others feel better or getting help or support. Don't be an ass. If you were never in survival mode, don't talk abt ppl not getting saved - it just says that YOU won't be the one saving them.

if your first instinct to hear “disabled ppl who do this should get to” be “that shouldn’t be part of accommodation because [prejudice dress in social justice language]” then problem is YOU!

The thing is, being unapologetically yourself really is the way to be. The ppl who like you are the ones to surround yourself with. Watching so much true crime, I have learned one thing: I would never want to be the murder victim in Europe (or maybe Austria/Germany specifically) while I would never want to be the (innocent) suspect of a murder in the US. The authorities in the first case would never be able to solve it bc they'd botch the investigation 100% and would never be able to figure anything out. The authorities in the second case would totally find me guilty of everything and anything just bc they'd say I'm "different" and I'm not doing things like they'd expect me to.

What is it with men on dating apps when they're like "my relationship goal is to get to know you first" or "let's have a deep connection first" or something? Movie about a depressed and rather morbid autistic man planning to commit suicide and picking up a number of odd jobs in an effort to raise enough money to meticulously plan and prepay for his funeral so his mother doesn’t have to worry about it after he is gone. He begins to connect with people and enjoy life for the first time while working part time as a greeter in the funeral home, helping an eccentric old lady organize her basement, walking 7 dogs and maintaining a feral cat colony for a guy with a broken foot, playing a number of bit parts in local ads and stocking the shelves at the convenience store at night. In the end, he has befriended many of his neighbors and he decides he does not want to die and goes back to school to become a funeral director instead.

I’m serious what is a typing lesson? What would they teach you? To type? My brother in Christ it is like writing with a pen but technically easier.
Before home computers were very common, people typically only typed for business-related things, so the only people that actually knew how to use typewriters and word processors were authors, secretaries, accountants, etc. These people would take classes for typing bc it was seen as a skill. This gradually fell out of fashion, much like teaching kids cursive
Typing is only intuitive to gen y & z bc most of us learned through computer games or had someone tell us where to rest our fingers. People who never learned to type use just their index fingers, hit one key, take a long time to find the next letter, hit it with an index finger, and repeat until finished
Also bestie people also very much do get extensively taught how to write with a pen

I am on dating apps (plural). Bc of my looks or the way I am or whatever I don't get a lot of likes. Most of them by men I would never date bc they're gym bros and give podcast-incel-vibes. But anyway. Sometimes there's a match. Hallelujah. I have never exchanged more than 5 messages with them bc at the point where it comes to "what do you do for a living", I answer honestly that I can't work due to my chronic illness. And that's where the conversation ends. Every time. It doesn't even matter if they're an engineer or a teacher or a social worker (a job having to do with ppl should make them more aware, but well... apparently it doesn't). The conversation never gets further than that. And I don't even know how I'm feeling about that, if I'm sad or annoyed or angry... I don't know. I just know that "I had to quit my job due to having a chronic illness" are the lasts words I'm going to say to this person. But what's my choice - at some point I have to tell them and I'd rather do it sooner than later and wasting my time.
