Cisco CCX 8.5 Licensing

so i found out today...the hard way that when licensing Cisco CCX 8.5 if you change any of the following items:

Time Zone

NTP servers

NIC speed

Hostname

IP address

IP mask

Gateway address

Primary DNS

SMTP server

Certificate Information (Organization, Unit, Location, State, Country)

I honestly think having some of these tied to the licensing of the server is absolutely ridiculous! NTP server....really??? Hard lesson...just learned. #licensingfail

Macbook Air Trackpad....dead

my trackpad doesn't clickety click anymore :( so different without the normal clicking of the trackpad that i had to bring it in for service. So i have an appointment at 9:15am. I walk in, the geniuses look it over for 5 min..."yup, it needs a new one man". "duh" i say in my head. He pulls the part out to replace the trackpad...."but" i don't have a tech to work on this for 4 days. WTH!?!?!?!?!?! man i can do this in 5 min. Let me do it. "Sorry man it will void the warranty". This is ridiculous!!!! This is a business laptop. "Sorry man i don't have anyone to work on it for 4 days". Sure enough, it took them 4 days to replace a trackpad. Ultimate fail for Apple!

Hire more repair techs, Apple!!! There's a ton of qualified people without jobs right now that can do it! Hell....I'm working 72 hour and I'd still do some consultant repair jobs from Apple to help them out!

I can tell the trackpad is a lesser replacement. The click seems....fake. :( The original click isn't there...

Printing off my Macbook Air with a Dell 1710n

I have an admin machine in my office running Windows 7 and a network printer. Needed my Macbook Air to connect to the Dell 1710n printer instead over emailing myself the document to the admin machine just to print it...

Add printer on Macbook Air via Settings panel.

Open printers and click the + sign.

hold down Control button and click on Default.

Select Customize Toolbar

Drag the Advance cogwheel next to the Windows icon.

Click ok

Click on Advanced.

Under Type, select LPD/LPR and put the IP behind the // in URL section.

BAM!!! Printer is online!

Calabrio VS Cisco

So i've got an on going problem with Calabrio's QM Live Monitoring feature ripping streams off my Cisco Ip Communicator softphone users. Both companies are pointing at each other....Winner???....hard to say?! Cisco's Ip communicator version 8.6.1 and 8.6.3 seem to break when using the Live monitoring from Calabrio. But Calabrio is behind the curve on keeping up with Java version that makes me want to scream! Soon as i uninstall those versions and slap Version 7 from Cisco IP communicator on..BAM!!! Everything works!!!

FML....one month down because of the version issue...so much testing and configuring....finally found the answer on my own. Maybe i can go part time for ATAC??? Work from Home??? where's my model one?? :)

Working on a possible DNS configuration issue... we shall see! Although I'd like to clear up this schannel error 46 up. I've over 20,000 error events and I don't know where they're coming from.

Logging in as an Agent....

So i've been working fine for the past 3 weeks for testing...today out of now where .."An extension on the agent phone is shared with one or more other devices. This configuration is not supported. " Really? FML

Cisco Mobile Supervisor

Sick!!!!! Just found the app in the app store for the iphone. I can control the agents state, take them off not ready and put them into ready state. Check my queue times, alert me when thresholds have been met for wait time!! Loving it!!! Was a breeze to setup too!

Mailbox...clean.

I just cleared my inbox from 597 emails (within 3 weeks) down to 52. omg...feels like i just took a 45 min shower...sooooo clean! Cisco phone system deployment including IP communicator softphone to work from home agents. Cisco Supervisor desktop to monitor them to 8 managers and supervisors. Calabrio QM and WFM has also been added to record, monitor and create schedules for those agents. What a crazy 3 weeks it's been!

Agent Unable to Log Into Cisco Agent Desktop

One of my clients was getting a "The ID you entered was not found". After running through the solutions on this page http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00801786cb.shtml

Only thing that worked for me was restarting the CCX manage engine. Fixed my problem within 5 seconds. :)

Agents Not Displayed on Cisco Supervisor Desktop

One of the reasons I was trying to get Bridged network working on my MBA in Parallels is because the Cisco Supervisor Desktop uses a specific protocol/port that requires constant conversation with the server to report real time displays. I noticed when the application would fail at receiving the information it would either close out any windows i had open or blank everything out while keeping the main application open.

solution for now:

Using Shared network, cisco vpn into the network...BAM. CSD working perfect!

USB to Serial adapter for Macbook Air on Mountain Lion

So for about a month now, my usb-to serial adapter has been creating a kernel panic if i pull out the device while still connected in iterm to a router. It didn't really bother me until now....it's actually getting to be so damn annoying. trying to find a solution before i set it a blaze!
