delays during hot weather aren't actually caused by thermal expansion of the rails. its just that feeding the trains enough ice cream takes time
we have to feed the rails ice cream too. and that takes forever (we still aren't sure how they eat so we just leave the ice cream next to the tracks and hope that works)

the genius of the pacer is that we can skip the step of replacing your train with a rail replacement bus because it's already bred to be part bus. through this we can increase efficiency tenfold.

get a lot of asks about big (usually yank) steam locomotives and there's just. lots more to trains than big steam locomotive. personally i care more about rail operations, fleet allocations, timetabling and just how networks operate. particularly in like late british rail and post privatisation operations within britain with some limited interest in like. welsh narrow gauge, earlier post-steam br and modern japan maybe. i don't know much about steam trains beyond what my girlfriend bothers me with (mostly bullied's bullshit which is very interesting to both of us). idk there's so much more to trains than big steam locomotives. when im talking about kissing trains it's one of the thousands of commuter multiple units people take to work each day.

i think most trains would love a soft fluffy blanket
just one more redesign. surely one more redesign will cut costs. surely if we redesigned the railway currently mid construction to be slower it would cut costs right. surely if we alter the specs for the trains we already ordered we'll save money. surely if we downgrade the signalling system and upgrade it later it'll cost less. just one more redesign trust.
