Flowers grow best with some shade, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France
Maurice Denis was a fervently Christian painter of the 19th-20th century, his work full of pastel colours reflecting his faith, love for his wife, and appreciation of the Nabi art movement. He set up his atelier in an old hospital and its chapel in the town of Saint Germain en Laye, just outside of Paris, and to this day you can still see his paintings there in the Maurice Denis museum.
I personally really didn't care for his paintings and his style, but I would definitely come back for this garden if I'm ever in the area ! It was so peaceful and it made me want to just sit in the grass and play chess under the mighty trees.
