he shakes his head as he hears her ❝ never too busy for you . ❞  he says as he looks at her ❝ you look divine, as always . ❞  he muses towards her with a small smile. ❝ how about we take a walk outside and I’ll tell you all about it . ❞  he said as he drags her along with him ❝ our presence here is too merely cause a little chaos, I have to keep a close eye on guasparre’s little gem : amalia &. well the woman I spoke to you about can’t really reveal that she’s on our side ❞  

walking side by side with her, he turns to look at her ❝ I had to bring faye with me but hopefully soon enough you’ll get to meet the one that I’m dying for you to meet as you so kindly put it. ❞  he adds in smiling at the brunette before him. ❝ but should did you come with or are you parking it solo ? ❞ 

A nod and Ness moves along with Emi, letting her eyes fall closed for a moment and exhaling, “Yeah, I sometimes forget how entangled a lot of our lives are in chaos.” she pauses, waiting for them to get free of the abundant crowd before she offers him a grin and lowers her voice, “I came with a man named Max, I kind of like him. We have fun.”

Seeing the familiar face brought a smile to Alessia’s cheeks. She was glad to run into her new found acquaintance. Sometimes, Uber worked in mysterious ways. She gave her a kiss back on the cheek, plucking the drink out of her hand and taking a sip of the refreshing alcohol. “Lovely choice,” Alessia reassured her and nodded. 

“Oh, really? I know Julia from around the area,” she told her with a grin. “She’s always been so sweet and she looks so happy. I’m glad I got to witness this side of her,” she told her. “Are you enjoying yourself? A little different from our last hang out,” she said, giggling. 

Her arm looped with Alessia’s, drink in hand, and she gestured at the gathered crowds, looking all too pleased to be surrounded by people who could — at least on some level — truly dress up. A tilt of her head towards the other brunette and she gave a grin, “Enjoying myself way more than I thought I would be at a wedding where I don’t know too many people. My date’s around here... somewhere, and I saw an old friend here a bit ago - I’ll have to find him before too long.”

She dips her head now, letting it gently brush against Alessia’s own and then laughs, “I don’t know, I think we do well enough no matter where we are. I still have flats in my bag, too. Just in case I gotta run.”

There was taste in simplicity, and by the way the studs shined against the lights of passing cars, he could tell she had implemented it into her style with care. The rainbow lights that came from zirconias was absent. 

“The question that lies now is if I could pull off the wig and piano,” He chuckled. “I was at a restaurant a couple of blocks down taking care of the bill while they went off after a few drinks. I just made sure they had a wallet for whatever they were getting up to. Guy in the red shirt who tore it off? Unfortunately, he’s a buddy of mine.”

“Oh wow, really? He was with you?” Her head tips from left to right and she grins, “Not the worst looking thing I’ve ever seen, but definitely surprising. I take it you’re the quote-unquote sane on in your group.” Ness does air-quotes for the effect as she regards Jude thoughtfully.

Her chocolate brown eyes scanned the appearance of the stranger girl approach her. It was a habit of Alessia’s to judge off the bat– admittedly. Thankfully, she liked what she was seeing. She was a woman of taste, or trying to acquire some. Alessia appreciated the effort of hers on the other side. She gave her a loose grin, shaking her head. “I guess I should do that,” she said, tilting her head as she tried to request another Uber. “But– I like to live on the fucking edge,” she muttered and sighed as she saw the next cancellation screen pop up. Suddenly, the chilly breeze was bothering her. She should’ve just gone to next club. As she let out a laugh, looking down at the stilettos she was trained to walk in since she was five years old. “I can’t remember the last time I wore flats,” she admitted to the brunette. 

“I’m in!” She agreed, a little too excitedly. “As long as it has something, right?”

“I have a pair on me at all times in case I need to run,” a statement that should sound ominous but the expression on Ness’ face was anything but, “and you DO like to live on the edge if you don’t have a pair. Respect.”

There was a moment of silence as she took in Alessia’s whole aesthetic, now close enough to see her in the streetlights and allowing them both a second to breathe off the chill, before offering, “Oh yeah, the place is equipped it’s just not where I live exclusively so it like... doesn’t have my favorites. Fridge should be stocked, though. And my neighbors are pretty nice so we could probably get some of them to join us if it really came down to it.”

he knows he’s about to get an earful when it comes to vanessa, she’s never been one to hold her tongue and he definitely wasn’t the type either. maybe that’s why their friendship worked so well, because they complemented each other so well , a true friend. he hears her and shakes his head ❝ is that such a bad thing ? ❞  he says with a playful smile as he takes a sip of the wine before him. 

yet she doesn’t stop there , she keeps on going and he knows it’s all for his own good. ❝ don’t get me wrong ness, I wanna do all that . I want to be able to be there for her and let her make her own choices, I want to give her everything she’s ever dreamed of having. her life hasn’t been easy and I want to make sure that whatever happens from here and ahead, that she’s alright . ❞  he says as he looks at her and takes another bite of the steak before him. if life only was that easy as she was preaching it to be, there was so many thing that could go wrong between them. 

a chuckle escapes his lips as she points the asparagus his way , his right brow cocked upward and he shakes his head. ❝ trust her . alright, thanks luv. ❞  he says smiling , sending a wink her way ❝ but tell me about you, anyone interested I should know about ? ❞ 

“As far as you know, babe, everything she wants in life is you so you can give her exactly that if you just... communicate with her. I know that’s not your signature move because you like playing it close to the vest when it comes to your feelings but... she knows you’re into her, and you know you’re into her so pretending like anything else will do is ludicrous.” Ness looks at him as she chews her food, giving him a moment to process as she literally lays into him in as gentle a way as possible, “Besides, bad things happen to everyone and if you’re close to her you can keep her as safe as possible, non?”

Sybil’s own purse was small enough to snuggly fit her wallet, phone and keys. She hardly ever was more prepared than those few things, perhaps a bobby pin or strip of body tape here and there. Yet, Vanessa was prepared for almost anything that could happen that night. “Well, I’m glad you were better prepared than I was.” Sybil assured her as they made their way out to the bar and to some drinks waiting for them. Had Vanessa placed the order for these before? Either way, Sybil was grateful for the awaiting drinks. 

Taking one, she took a sip and allowed Vanessa to lead her where she wanted. It was easy enough to trust her for something she seemed so confident about. Ah, how Sybil hated that question. Though she was extremely chatty and friendly, Sybil hardly talked about herself. At least more than simply surface things. “Well you already know of my other job, so I don’t think it’d surprise you for me to say I also work at Mercy as a nurse.” She informed with a charming smile. “You’re at Vaudeville Noir, right?” Sybil remembered seeing her around there before when called for medic duties.

Someone approaches and Vanessa gives them a smile and nods, tipping her head towards Sybil to indicate that she’s busy; it’s the easiest way to eschew people’s expectations of flirting or otherwise. Another approaches, this time moving for Sybil and while she wants to be the good girl and not step in for her, she adjusts their position so that she’s closer to Sybil in case the woman wants to use her as an excuse (not that she’s obligated to, but as if a silent offer.)

Alessia was living her ‘Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving’ thing Jenna Rink said in 13 going on 30. It was the only way she could defend her lifestyle. She still loved to party, let loose and enjoy her life. While some of her friends had kids, and some were just like her– she would make the best of it for herself. She deserved to live a happy life and be able to drink a couple shots of tequila without being judged, right? As the night proved fun, she found herself saying goodbye wanting to go home instead of move onto the next club. Her heels clicking against the cement as she swayed a little, watching her Uber get cancelled one after the other. What kind of BS was this? The girls voice catching her attention as she whipped around, nodding her head desperately. “You too? All of mine keep cancelling on me!” She said loudly, holding her phone up. “And I’m on 12 percent!”

Vanessa shifted her bag along her arm and toddled her way over, a tiny bit tipsy n heels that were sky-high and aware of the chill in the air sending goosebumps along her bare legs, “Right? I keep a battery pack in my bag but the issue isn’t the power it’s the audacity of an Uber ghosting that much.”

“..sounds like a personal problem if I’ve ever heard one.” He remarked, looking the woman over.

He himself was not waiting for an Uber, but was quickly discovering the inconvenience of not having car in such a massive state. Not something he ever had to worry about in New York. “Maybe you walk.” He said with an indifferent shrug. “Get to your destination faster than your uber.”

“I guess I could walk,” Ness murmured, brushing a hand back through her hair and reaching down to pull each of her heels off carefully, stuffing them into her bag and slipping on a pair of comfortable flats, “I’ve done it before and I’m sure I’ll do it again.”

When Vanessa pulled the bag out, Sybil was sure she had seen everything now come out of her bag. Part of her wondered if the bag was indeed magical since she seemed to pull out everything imaginable from that bag. “Okay, is that thing bigger on the inside?” Sybil inquired with a chuckle. She was grateful though, Vanessa was beyond prepared for the night and everything that could go wrong and now Sybil was reaping the rewards. “I’ll get it back before I leave. If I just throw it in the wash when I get home, it should be all good.” That would get the smell and stickiness out, and since what she’d been drinking was clear it wouldn’t leave a stain anyway. 

Vanessa was so personable that Sybil found it hard to believe that they weren’t already friends tonight, that they barely had spoken to each other before. But, now she was glad that she had run into Vanessa. It would give her a chance to get to know her. “After the night I’ve had free drinks sounds perfect.” 

There was a moment where Vanessa looked bemused, not because of the question but at the sheer realization that her bag was somewhat bigger than it appeared, “You know what? It is. It seems slim but it billows out the more you shove into it so really it’ll get bigger the more I put in there and slim down as I clear stuff out. That’s why I don’t carry a clutch, I need my things.”

This didn’t stop her forward momentum, happy to get free of the bathroom with a beautiful woman on her arm and steer them towards the bar where she, as she approached, had two drinks waiting for them; her and a guest always got the same thing, it didn’t matter whom she brought over, “Thanks, doll.”

with everything happening lately he felt that there was only so many people that he could really trust but he was glad that ness still remained someone that had his complete trust and confidence . he looks towards her as she speaks and he makes a nod as he placed a piece of asparagus into his mouth ❝ mh, isn’t that what it always comes down to ? to the love of a woman ? ❞  he inquired as he looked at her with a small smile. 

he always tended to be loyal with the woman in one and when he really wanted someone, it wasn’t long til he got them . it was just that last time he fell for someone, who really didn’t deserve the love that he gave to them in a silver platter. ❝  I would . ❞  he confessed with a small hum to his brims as he cuts the steak and placed the cut into his mouth. ❝ previous entanglements ?  ❞  the smirk on his lips seems to get bigger ❝  the entanglements , as you so kindly put are not the issue. the issue is that I don’t think I’m good enough for her ——- I don’t want to ruin her . I’m not a good man ness, I’m not someone who does good , I’m simply not .❞ 

“Emi, my darling, I’m going to say something to you and I need you to hear me as I intend it, with all the love in my heart because you know I loved and adore you.” Vanessa says after chewing a piece of steak carefully and reaching across to squeeze his hand, “You get in your own way far too much.”

That could have easily been the end of it. He knew it was true, she knew it was true, anyone who spent time with Emiliano knew that eventually he would get in his own way of happiness for the sake of proving himself right, but she soldiered on, “She’s a grown woman fully capable of seeing who you are or I doubt you’d even be this, uh... smitten? You can’t baby her, you can’t choose for her, you put your cards on the table and you let her know that you think you’re bad news but you’re not there to tell her that just what you worry and you let her decide what’s best for her.”

“My friends usually park far even if it’s a walk, but our group went a little too far tonight that it’s just easier to bring the car to us. I have a feeling we’re gonna be here all night with how many people are heading home for the night. The trick is to leave thirty minutes before close, but I think we all enjoyed ourselves too much.”

He could feel her inspecting him, but his attention fell to whatever jewelry she had on first. It was his way of determining character, the very sparkle of any jewel giving him a sense of a person. 

“Amadeus,” He said, exchanging names. “But most people call me Jude. It tends to be easier.”

“Jude sounds less like you wear a wig and play piano, yeah.” Ness tilts her head, peering over at him again and flashing a modest amount of jewelry. Truly, she wore diamond studs in her ears and a simple, thin white gold bracelet — most of her money was in the bags and couture rather than the jewelry; she loved clothes, “What did you get up to while you were in there? I’d ask if that’s too forward but I figure you can either indulge me or ignore the question on your own and I can continue to just be, well, me.”
