Seriously, they think they're making anything better? It's harming mental health, it's against the science, anti human rights and B O R I N G
serious I do not understand.
Science facts donโt change based on how they make you feel or how interesting you find them personally.
There are two human sexes.
And if we want to talk boring, letโs talk about the gender movement taking what used to be called โpersonalityโ and โself expressionโ and decided to put them into gendered boxes so they could look special on social media.
There's not just 2 sexes.
Sex in humans as well as other animals is bi-modal, meaning there is male on one end and female on the other, and there's many types of people who are intersex in between the two modes.
That's just sex though, and gender isn't even the same as gender expression or gender roles.
Gender is a self determined identity.
Gender expression is the way someone chooses to express that identity.
And gender roles are the socially constructed boxes that people have for "typical" behavior associated with those genders.
For some people, all of these line up pretty cleanly, for others, they do not.
Brooke. You really need to stop responding to these types of people. They aren't going to read what you say. Their entire tumblr is dedicated to being anti-trans, anti-SW, and other such things. They don't CARE the science is actually on our side. They don't CARE about people's actual mental health. They just want to "win" against "the trans".
It's not for the person I'm responding to. It's for other queer people or allies who are met with the "sex argument" to have an idea of how to respond.
Of course, don't say what I said, look into the things I said, and do the research regarding the distinctions I made in the post.
Not everyone who equates sex and gender is doing so in a way that means to be harmful, most people are intuitive thinkers rather than critical thinkers and you can help them to see the differences and why they matter.
But no, this person is unlikely to change because of my response.
