The House of the Future. Motorola advertisements from the early 1960s, illustrated by Charles Schridde. He did a lot.
There is no unskilled labor, only undervalued skills.
Take pride in your work. Very satisfying.

The back of this Full Moon stereograph reads:
This stereograph shows clearly that the moon is an almost perfect sphere. The moon does not shine by its own light as the sun does. Instead, the moon shines by light reflected from the sun. The sun shines on the moon and then the mom sends the light on to us. Sunlight caught in a mirror is sent on in just the same way.
When the moon is in such a position that the whole face sends light to the earth it looks round and we call it a “full”moon. This is a stereograph of a full moon. At other times the moon is in different positions and then only a part of its face sends light to us. When but just a very narrow crescent shows, we say the moon is new. However, the moon is a sphere at all time, whether it looks that way or not. It is made of the same substances as earth, we know the earth could not change from a sphere to a crescent in a few days.
People often wonder if anything lives on the moon. Nothing that is like the people, animals, and plants that we know could live there for the temperature on the moon is sometimes more that 200 degrees below zero. On the other hand the lack of atmosphere cause the moon’s surface to become melting hot when the sun strikes it directly.
The rides of our oceans are chiefly due to the attraction of the moon on the water. High tide comes regularly, about fifty minutes later each day, just following the passing of the moon. Because of this, scientists have decided that the drawing power of the moon causes the tides. —Keystone Vision Co.

Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.

Iain Macarthur is a freelance illustrator born in Swindon, England in 1986. He became a fanatic of art at the age of eight when he was first introduced to art through the medium of cartoon television shows and comic books. In 2008 Lain graduated from Swindon College with a degree in HND Illustration.
My work can be described as surreal and unique in its own way. Using mostly pencil, watercolours and pigment pens, I create portraits of ordinary people but create them in a unusual way by, embellishing patterns and watercolour effects into the portrait to give a vivid explosion effect transforming their faces from something plain to something entirely bizarre and wonderful at the same time.

What makes your ideas matter
What makes it possible for you to have worthwhile ideas?
As TED curator Chris Anderson puts it: “There’s one thing you have that no one else in the world has: Your own first-person experience of life. Yesterday you saw a sequence of things and experiences a sequence of emotions that is, quite literally, unique. You are the only human among 7 billion who had that exact experience.”
It doesn’t matter if you view your ideas or perspective as anything worthwhile, it’s undoubtedly unique by default. What matters is that you recognize how your unique perspective might translate to some of the other 7 billion humans out there.
Maybe there’s someone who has struggled with something you routinely overcome. Or perhaps there’s a person who is in a similar situation as you were a year ago. If you could find a way to translate your experience, your ideas, how you think and act, you could change each of those person’s lives. And it doesn’t take much, a simple blog post or tweet, a willingness to put your idea onto paper or video, anything that can take the idea or emotion or experience from your own head into at least one other person’s…that’s impactful.
That’s why I still write on Creative Something almost ten years after I began. If I can share my perspective and lessons learned with just one other person, that’s worthwhile. That’s important to me. If I can inspire just one other person, I believe what that one person does next could inspire another, then another, indefinitely. So while my words may fall on some deaf ears, if at least one person is impacted and inspired by what I have to say, my creativity is making a difference in the world.
What perspective or idea can you share? How might you share it? Through writing or art, music, video, by inventing a new product or developing an app? Whatever it is: know that your experience in life is unique, and that makes it valuable.
