Diary entry to release my thoughts into the Tumblr void:
I am coming to accept that I need to take my chronic pain more seriously. I have seen many different doctors about it and I have just been told it's "likely long covid, just take an ibuprofen" no referrals to specialists or anything. i think it's actually fibromyalgia but no Drs take me seriously.
But near constant pain for almost 5 years is too much. I'm so tired and I can't do things I enjoy anymore. I can't dance, can't run, can't go for long walks.im so fucking over it. Walking for longer than 10 minutes leads to back and knee pain. I can't sit in stools or chairs without back support because holding myself up causes too much strain.
I am accepting that it's not normal to be this way. It's actually a disability. I cannot function at the same level as other people because of this condition.
I have been researching and I think I'm at a point where I should get a cane? I am scared of the judgment people will give me though. A 24 year old, otherwise healthy looking person with a cane. Will people think I'm faking for attention? But maybe this will get people to believe me when I say I have chronic pain.
Idk. I hope a cane helps though, I think it should help alleviate the strain on my joints and back. I saw someone today about my age who directed theirs with a labubu and stickers and it was really cute.
