Claire shook her head, lacing their fingers together. “How about we lay down some ground rules?”

Jack chuckled. “Rules, huh?”

“Yes.” A smirk twitched at her lips. “If you come within six inches of my personal space in the office, I have permission to taze you.”

(Or: 7 times people found out about Jack and Claire’s relationship + 1 time people were told.)

Of course, Jack’s age hadn’t stopped a few beautiful young women—and one handsome young man—from approaching him with a wink and a casual hand trailing across his chest. One girl had curly dark hair and was even wearing a short red dress.

But none of them were Claire, and therein lay the problem.

(Or: Jack tries to find Claire on her night out. Easier said than done.)

Everyone goes through a time of darkness in their life. Be it the loss of a loved one, a break up, issues in their personal life, depression, or, like me, some sort of strange, mixed up, jumbled combination of it all. All I wanted was something or someone that could make me laugh and actually be happy again.

When I discovered python, I found what I had been looking for. The uncontrollable laughter, the absurd humour and quirky characters that starred in every sketch. But none of them could make me laugh quite like this guy did.

Dr Graham Arthur Chapman. You sir, were are a comedy genius and I thank you for continuously making me laugh. Whether I’m sad, angry, stressed or anxious, watching, reading or listening to your work puts me into better spirits. 

Although you were gone before I was even born, 25 years to be exact, it saddens me to know that I’ll never have the opportunity to wait for your new material to be released or excitedly tweet you in hopes that you’ll answer.

“Late,” he says with waning finality as he turns and sees that no, it’s not you. It’s another student – a friend of yours, clutching her bag and so much less interested than you when you waltz into a room. She hardly acknowledges him, only when he taps his foot and clears his throat. Because you may be late but at least you’re never absent. Except today, he supposes. 

He asks where you are, she stops and looks behind her. 

She’s expectant at first and he flairs with some excitement, but she proves herself a false alarm with “Oh uh, told me to tell you she’s not coming today. Emergency , or something.” 

His brows jump up, and with a sputtering “Oh oh…huh.” He shakes his curiosity and visual traces of worry away. Just an absence. Not that weird, anyway. 

‘Emergency’ can constitute anything…from the severe severe to the still not fine but at least not severe. “Well, okay…” he blinks  hard and stands straight. “As I was saying-”
