plan some you time in between studying and school
if youāre mentally exhausted, set a timer for 30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and youāll wake up even more tired

have a goal in mind and write them down. say things likeĀ āi am getting an education so i can get the job of my dreams. the life that i want. the happiness that i deserveā
be thankful. it is a privilegeĀ that you get to go to school and get an education.Ā
you got this.

If youāre applying to colleges, the wordsĀ āSkype interviewā can be more intimidating than actually applying to the college itself. While the idea of a Skype interview can be really scary, the actual interview doesnāt have to be! Here are a few tips to help you lift yourself off your paper application fearlessly!
Post its are your best friends! None of us are perfect orators and thatās okay! Prepare yourself for your interview by sticking Post-its with talking points about yourself on your laptop so you never face awkward silences during your interview!
Look at the camera and not yourself I cannot stress on this enough, but, always look into the camera. I know it can be really tempting to check your image in the tiny screen at the bottom of Skype, but avoid it all costs. Looking directly into the camera is the only way to establish eye contact.Ā
Practice makes perfect If this is your first Skype interview, it helps to practice an interview over Skype with your friends or family. Youāll familiarizeĀ yourself with Skype and also troubleshoot any issues you might face! Plus practicing for your interview hasnāt hurt anyone.Ā
Ā Your surroundings matter Where you are when youāre having your interview is incredibly important. Avoid having the interviews from a Starbucks (learnt that the hard way) and basically anywhere outside. Itās best to have your interview in your room with minimal distraction in the background.Ā
Giving thanks Believe it or not, admissions counselorsĀ arenāt just speaking to one applicant a day. Sometimes it ranges to anywhere between five and ten applicants. Besides being candid during your interview, itās always great to thank your interviewer for their time via email. This helps the interviewer identify you from the many, MANY applicants theyāve spoken to!
There you have it! Five tips to help you ace your Skype Interview! It took me quite some time (5 interviews, to be precise) to finally get the hang of it, but it doesnāt faze me anymore, and with these tips, you should have it in the bag after your very first interview!Ā
Have a wonderful day, sunshines!
Had to write an interpretation for a part of the book weāre reading in German class. Didnāt like doing it but Iām quite happy with how it turned up in the end.

Itās almost December, which means Christmas is less than a month away, but, that also means college applications are also due soon.
If you are applying to college, December can be one of the most stressful months of the school year, but, fear not! Writing application essays is hard, but, it is also a really important part of the college application process. And while proof-reading your essay ten times a day is essential, an outside opinion is more than useful!
Send me your application essays for colleges in the US, UK, and Europe for feedback and a fresh outlook on your essay! All you have to do is message me off anon here!Ā
Get writing, sunshines!
7.11.17 // Lettering
Iāve been practicing lettering in my 70 day letter journal, even though I donāt do it every day! Itās been nice to see progress! Iām also tackling my to-do list today and editing a blog post, because I havenāt released one in a long time! They do take a lot of time + thought to make, but it should be done this week!

how to stay productive
i rly srsly have a problem with this especially after school ))): like im always on tumblr or something so i never get anything done rip
so im gonna try to practice what i preach from now on!!! lets get into it!
preparing for productivity
when you get home from school or work, give yourself a 20-50 minute break. lets be honest we all have those days when we try to jump right into doing whatever the heck you need to do right when you get home but after like 20 minutes youāre distracted and a mess and not getting any work done. the easy way to prevent this is to give yourself time to do all of that before you start your work so youāre not distracted later (give urself an hour if its been an especially long day). eat a snack, wash ur face tbh, whip your hair, idk what you crazy kids do but do it. srsly. just get it out of the way.
get everything ya need in one place. this is kinda a no-brainer especially since itās all over tumblr. but srsly why get up every 5 minutes to get a pencil or something? just have it all in the first place. ez.
turn off your phone or put it in airplane mode. personally i like to pretend like im so determined and focused but every time i see the little t at the top of my phone im just gone. donāt let it distract you. if you need the internet, use your laptop/computer for less distractions.
set the mood. idk what you do, whether thats playing the moana soundtrackĀ hanging up fairy lights, putting on your diffuser or playing rap music; idk man! do it.
actually doing the thing
alright so now u got ur fairy lights, ur mildliners, ur face washed, and ur apple juice (??? apple juice is lit???). now throw yourself into it. literally just force yourself to do it. donāt know how??? welll!!! not sure how to help you! (no im kidding donāt leave yet pls)
use the touch it once rule. this is a favorite of the studyblr community. it means that everything on your to-do list, everything you know you need to accomplishā start it. just tell yourselfĀ āiāll only do 3 math problemsā orĀ āiāll only work on this resume for 5 minutesā. they say the hardest part is always starting. chances are, that unfinished worksheet is going to really bother you and youāll end up finishing it. if not, then just come back to later and touch it again and again until you finish it. tedious, but it works.
use theĀ ātwo minute ruleā. i got this one from @emmastudies! this rule means that if anything on your list takes 2 minutes or less to do (checking your emails, checking your tumblr inbox or something), do it. just get it done.
keep it balanced. do like one easy task and then one hard task so youāre getting everything done but not overwhelming yourself either.
break down your tasks. donāt just look at a giant task likeĀ āwrite a 3-page paperā. break it down into smaller subtasks likeĀ āplan paper. draft paper. edit paper. type and print paper.ā its much less scary to look at.
visualize procrastination as a monster. i do NOT take credit for this one; i saw it in a masterpost somewhere so this isnt mine!!! but basically i read that you should look at procrastination as a scary opponent ready to eat you alive (and honestly it is). tackle it. donāt let it attack. be so scared of it that you donāt let it get anywhere near you.
honestly just do it and keep at it. stop letting procrastination kick your ass so that you can be productive and stay productive. the work is itās own reward (:
RARE STUDY TIPS
1. write down how much you study over time, then write down how you did on the quiz/test. this will help you see the amount of studying is nessecary for you to get a good grade and fully learn the material!!!
2. make your study space smell fresh, preferably of mint. mint helps you focus and stay sharp. other good smells would be lemon, etc.
3. after studying for a long amount of time, go exercise for ~30 min. shower, get dressed, etc then review the info you had just been studying! you should come back fresher, and your brain is able to remember the info even better!
4. donāt always study in comfy/pj clothes. if you study a lot after school or classes, then itās ok. but if all you plan on doing is studying for that day, for part of the day get dressed up! put on some business casual wear, thatās cute yet functional and do your hair, etc. this will put you in a āget shit doneā mode.
5. after studying a unit/chapter, record yourself explaining it, as if to a person whose never heard of it. this helps SO MUCH. one, explaining/teaching helps you learn so much better, and two, you have a little video to review just before the test!!
6. study on the floor. if you have a carpeted area in your home, spread out all study materials, a white board, etc and study! it helps so much because you are comfertable and everything is within reach. do this if you need a break from desk studying.
I tried a new weekly setup and it really helped me to be more structured and productive! Today I had my second exam this semester and it wasnāt that good but I just hope the next three exams will be better! Drinking hot chocolate always helps me to gain some energy :) (which I really need because my next exam is in 3 days!) I hope youāre all having a lovely day! Sending you lots of love!! āØš

Taking a gap year after high school was probably the most terrifying decision Iāve ever taken. I had to defer (and eventually rescind) my acceptances to some of the best universities around the world, but, it was all worth it!
Now, Iām back at Uni and ready to work my butt off!Ā
If you guys have any questions about taking a gap year, what I did in my gap year, how I reapplied to universities, what are the pros and cons of taking a gap etc etc, drop in a question!
Have a great day, lovelies!
