It is! Tbh, I don't have much space left on the walls of my room so that's also another problem... They're still sitting in a corner of my room LOL.
Okay I tried searching for the ask but I just find the one where I told you I was taking a break, so I can't find the part about the grandpa. So basically, Fitz is the bastard son of Chivalry, who should be next in line to become king. Fitz is taken to court when he's six, so nobody knew about him and his existance changes everything (Chivalry didn't have any other heir because Patience, my sweet, sweet Patience, his wife, couldn't have them) so Fitz is kinda a problem. Long story short: Fitz is being taken care of by Burrich (his father's guard and stableman) for a while, he tells Fitz to lay low but one day his grandfather (the king) sees him and so from then on, he makes Fitz swear his loyalty to him as his assassin. So he starts to train to become an assassin, but obviously this has to be a secret and his a CHILD. There are many people in the shadows, there's a war at the door with the Red ships raiders from the Outlands, a country collapsing and a royal line about to die. And most importantly, there's The Fool, and there's a wolf who doesn't know what boundaries are, and so much more.
I started and finished "The Liveship Traders", the second trilogy. I can't rank them because they are so different from each other. I gave higher ratings to TLT, but I think it's because since it has multiple POVs and a more solid plot I rated the objective quality a bit better. The Farseer trilogy is slower, but it has to be like that. I loved them both for different reasons and I wouldn't know what to compare. I struggled with TLT because of ONE character; I HATED HIM. The themes in the second one are stronger, and I wouldn't recommend it if one is too sensitive to sexual violence of any kind. I think it made sense in the story, except one scene, and no, it's not the one the whole fandom thought was random (THAT character has been a piece of shit since the start, so no, I was not surprised when it happened, and no, it wasn't out of character). But it's a book that might make you uncomfortable (I felt like that in many scenes; even when there's no violence, women go through a lot and have to prove themselves). I liked the ending tho, I think that I was the only one rooting for that to happen so I didn't see it as a negative one. I'm excited about the next one, finally I'll go back to Fitz, but I'm not sure when I will start it. I also take back what I said about "The Rain Wild Chronicles" because one character who will be there, had the best character development in TLT so I can't wait to see more.
No don't feel bad! I guess I was disappointed because I thought I was going to love it but unfortunately, instead of making me feel hopeful, it had the opposite effect, it happens. Yeah, I know it's 100% a cultural difference thing, but even keeping that in mind, I couldn't love it.

Fortunately for me, I had the best streak this month. I think that I unironically read some of my new (possibly, we need to see the test of time) favorite books or at least the most interesting I read lately. I finished "The liveship traders." I read "My brilliant friend." And I also read "The Jasad Heir" and "The Jasad Crown", I just finished this one today and I cried so much omg. I had insane expectations but the writer served one of the best enemies to lovers with an interesting political plot and amazing side characthers so I fell in love with everything. I read two other books, I liked them but didn't love them, can't name one because it's a classic and it's illigal to say you didn't love a classic lol.

nothing against translation but reading books in their original language is truly a different experience. i finished “my brilliant friend” and before i added my review i was reading some others and a lot of things that people missed/didn’t get were to blame on the language and to italian (especially southern italian) culture. also, as i was reading i kept thinking “omg how did they translate this? how will it make sense? ” some things are hard even for italian people who aren’t from naples because they don’t understand the dialect. languages are so fascinating i could talk about this for days (and this is why i would always choose “know every language on earth” over “invisibility”)

Hi!! Omg are you in my mind? I re-read it a few weeks ago and seriously thought about it! To be honest, when I originally wrote it, writing more of them was something I considered (I wanted more mff bi4bi content, and I liked their dynamic so I was fine just writing more about them). The original idea was to have the reader explore more kinks with them (that was why I made her discover the toys box). If I’m not wrong I think at least another reader asked for a sequel but idk why I didn’t write anything right away (probably I was busy with other fics). So the good news is that I would be down to write more. The bad news? I don’t really write anymore, and it’s even worse when it comes to smut 😭 I could try, but I don’t really have a plot in mind, maybe if you have something more specific you’d like to see you can tell me? But I can’t promise anything. I haven’t even tried to write smut in the past year (☠️) so I don’t know if I still have the block and/or how bad it is, but I love them a lot, and I was really tempted so... maybe this is a sign???

Honestly, if I ONLY listened to the audiobook, I would be like you. I can't understand ANYTHING if I only listen to something, I always need to have the book in hand and the audiobook on, so if you're like me, I would recommend stopping and maybe starting when you have the possibility to read and listen at the same time (only if you still want to). It's a slow and long book, so it might be difficult to get into. Yes, it's one of the first lines of the book!

Was this about the 16 books first trilogy? If it was about that, honestly, too much happens, I would need to write a book (lol) to tell you. The main character has a very shitty life (he's the bastard orphan of the king to be, and then is brought to court but he's raised as an assasin for the king, his grandfather), and so much happens, and I genuinely wanted to murder a character with my bare hands, but it's good, I love it when books make me feel like this lol. It's not even violent, but Robin Hobb is so good at writing characters that I grew attached to everyone, so I felt everything while reading
No for me it wasn't slow-paced, but it felt a bit repetitive, and it started giving me anxiety after the third story. Like, the first story was hopeful, and I liked it, I even saw something of my own struggles for the entire book, but it felt too much focused on work, yk? There's so much more about life, and every character struggled with work. And idk, it felt like work is everything (I didn't like the one who finally published his book but didn't leave his corporate job because "it fed me all these years" like, okay yes, but you don't owe that company anything 😭) And the mom wasn't mad enough with her husband, idc, I'm glad they worked it out in the end but she had every right to be mad. It wasn't a bad book, but it didn't make me feel positive, just anxious 😭😭😭 Maybe I'm just stupid, but it's a theme so close to me and instead of making me feel hopeful it did the opposite

Dw, you didn't reply! I finished the first trilogy and I'm depressed 😭😭😭 When I tell you I constantly think about what's going to happen in the other books, that I almost feel sick, I'm not kidding. It's a slow story, but I fell in love with her writing; it's a lot just the way I like it. I decided to take a break because the second trilogy is not about Fitz and I've read some people struggled with the jump and "hated" the first book because of that, so I'm reading "what you are looking for is in the library" because I thought, "well, let's have a clear break, completely different genre, I'm going to be fine," it's not looking great so far. I mean, I don't think it's bad but I fear the jump from the writing and story style is ruining the experience a bit 😭 So please remind me what you liked about it so I can see it in a different light 😭
But anyway, I decided that I will start the second trilogy after this one or maybe I'll try to read another and then go back to my Robin Hobb world. I will try to read them all 16, but I've heard that one series (the rain wild chronicles) is the weakest one and many people skip it or dnf it so we'll see if I'll like it or if I'll have to dnf.

(like irl is still wrong bc there are power dynamics at play but idc about it in fiction). Yeah 1d ff were insane. Niall was always eating, Zayn was always mad, Louis and Harry were jealous of each other even in x reader fics, and Liam was Liam lol. I mean yes but I would’t say innocent, like Harry was clearly the one painted as a horny pervert but Louis was the mischievous one, a bit flirty too, same thing with Zayn but he was mysterious instead. The one who was painted as a saint was Niall.
Yeah I agree. Also most of the times he’s simply blind as fuck so he looks mad but he’s just trying to see (the same thing that happened with Kyungsoo). I think that his character in ff “stained” the way he’s seen way more than the way he acts. Yes, he’s reserved most of the times but nobody pays attention to him when he’s more extroverted. His humor is also “weird” so that doesn’t help him. When he was a rookie his personality was even more bubblier (is this a word?), man I miss baby jaehyun 😭 (this was written by Taeyong)
