Every terrible deed... did those things matter at all in the end? Of course they didn't, right? Well... that was the point, though, wasn't it? No point. Meaninglessness. Emptiness.

★ But did that make it all 'worth it'? Cyrus wasn't sure. He sighed, shaking his head slowly in thought. ❝ Your question... it fails to grasp the point. ❞

the last time that cyrus ever cried, it was when his golbat evolved. he watched his pokemon evolve, saw how much it truly loved him, and for the first time in a long time he doubted himself. he wept, harder than he had since he was a child. he tried to stifle the show of deplorable human spirit, but only succeeded in whimpering pitifully like a kid.
