Loki literally shifts his appearance though?? While they are genderfluid, they also literally shifts into an entirely different form. Like, more than just her having boobs. When female, all of her features sharpen and become thinner. She's taller, her bone structure becomes entirely different. Even her nose changes shape. Her body type becomes the typical feminine shape; with narrow shoulders and hourglass waist.
When male, he's shorter. Stout and muscular in comparison. His shoulders are more broad, and his face is more square set and thicker. Even his fingers are thicker. He has the typical 'masculine' build, even down to the Doritos shape torso.
The reason people use two different different faceclaims is because Loki purposefully doesn't look the same when male and female. As their gender shifts, so does their physical appearance. It is a purposeful design that is pretty damn integral to their character. Even their skin tone changes; with his male presenting as tanned and her female presenting as very pale.
You can actually find numerous panels where Loki shifts from her female form to his male form that very clearly highlight the differences. It's honestly really kind of shitty to take away that autonomy of Loki, who specifically wants to be seen a certain way when she identifies as female and when he identifies as male; and say that they have to be the same face. When that's completely contradictory of what Loki actually wants and does.
i’m genuinely not trying to “take away that autonomy of loki”...? as a trans dude, it just feels uncomfortable to me Personally to have two different faceclaims for the purpose of presenting a certain way because like i said in the previous ask, it feels like they’re specifically enforcing a binary…? like loki is still genderfluid regardless of the way they present, yeah sure they present more femininely or masculinely in certain scenarios — but i feel like you can describe a change in appearance for a genderfluid character without just using two different faceclaims.
