The Neo Queen

Ah, of course. The merciful goddess would never have mercy on him. The words were like a direct blow and the Prince failed to conceal it under the mask of pride. After seconds of not hearing it, the sound of his own heart was a deafening mess, pulsing into his ears as if it could protect him from the cruel Queen’s voice.

“Nothing of course. Not for you at least, since you decided to convince yourself people of Nemesis were not humans. Heartless creatures you could send over the edge of the galaxy if they didn’t bend bend to your will; monsters you could frame as the wrong ones when they try to take revenge for their fate. You never tried to listen to us - to understand.”

He shouted the last words, voice shaking with anger - and excitement. For she was listening, at last, and he would bear whatever pain she would bring again if that meant he finally got to release the burden he carried for so long.

“I was born to reject you and everything you stand for. Our entire clan lived for centuries with a common objective; being the exact opposite of the white Moon. But you made us like this, realize it at last, you are not the victim here. You are the reason all of this happened in the first place. Sailor Moon herself understood this but, you! Why are you still denying us– me?!”

The anguish in Demando’s voice caused Serenity to wince. No longer could she deny that she retained an open heart. As she faced away from the Black Moon Prince, her body struggled with the internal conflict, trembling ever so slightly as his words rang somewhat true. 

“Don’t say that!” Serenity refused to believe that her idealistic ideologies were at fault--that her and the ginzuishou’s existence were the reasons why the Black Moon Clan even resorted to murder. “Your clan threatened the peace we worked hard to keep..  It needed to be banished.” That was half the truth. 

Such a harsh tone, it made his heart fall so deep in his chest he couldn’t hear it anymore. He was sure his ears were ringing as well, his entire body overreacting from such a short sentence.

But she was here. She was looking at him.

“Am I that undesirable?”

But she could not look at him any longer, turning her back on the leader of rebels that attacked her kingdom--her home.  Her family. 

Being a sympath who easily forgave her enemies, Serenity could not do it for the man with dark and manipulative powers such as these. Having once used them to unsuccessfully steal her virtue and loyalty for Endymion many ages ago.

Serenity ground her white heels into the smooth crystal flooring, clenching her fists. She would not yield.

“..What is there to desire?”
