there's something about lukey being the only one remembering previous servers.
the painful realisation he must have each time he travels into a new word where he meets familiar faces. only for them not to remember him and their history.
he is the only one carrying the burden of knowing how the world ended multiple times. he fought against the corruption before and even found a cure against it.
yet it seems to follow. he can't escape it and he can't talk to anyone about the burden of his knowledge.
despite enjoying time with the people of new worlds, he knows that he will inevitably end up being alone again.
because that is how it has always been...and probably always willl

Whelp, I think I've reached my full potential in evilness.
I thought that my angst fanfics weren't enough anymore and so i edited Schpood's DaD session 4 stream vod down and added some background music. I showed it to an IRL friend and made her cry.
This might be my peak because I'm not sure if I can be more evil after this.
Yes, my way of coping with the end of the server might be pulling others down with me...
Yep, so my brain is still stuck on yesterday's Decayed and Decrepit session and I've definitely not skipped doing my uni work to rewatch the vods because who would do that? *cough* Totally not me *cough*
During all the time I came of with two ways Schpood and Spidey's lore could evolve. Both ideas have include that they are unable to stop Wifies, meaning that the city will blow up, no matter what. It's only a matter of who escapes it. It seems pretty likely that the city will blow up either way as next session will be the last one and destroying the city would be a reasonable way to end the series for now.
Idea 1: Mercy kill
I can very much see them try to do something similar with Spidey was what they did to 4C. Spending one last day together, visiting everything she loves for a last time before Jonathan kills her during sunset. After that he either leaves because he promises Spidey to continue living or he stays behind and ends up being destroyed together with the only place he ever called home (I can honestly see both ways happening).
Idea 2: The machine
In the latest recording we heard on Schpood's stream Ish talked about the machine being able to transfer the infection more than once. If i remember it right he said something like "From subject A to B and then to subject C". The recording mentioned that there's a limit to how often it can be transferred without lasting side effects but technically, it should be possible to do it twice.
Spidey does not know about that detail but Jonathan does. He had previously done everything to protect Spidey and even promised it to the moon, so I can very much see him doing it again. What if he lures her into the machine again and indirectly forces the infection onto himself to safe her. From then on he either forces Spidey to leave Paradise City, she stays by his side until he turns or the city goes boom before he even has the time to fully turn.
That's pretty much the two scenarios that kept on going through my mind. Both could be completely wrong, but either way, they will probably make us suffer horribly again...
Istg if Spidey and Schpood's DaD lore ends with him mercy killing her to make sure she doesn't fully turn, I will end it.
Because if that's the case then I predicted that shit since February. When writing 'As the light goes out' I definitely didn't mean for apollo to hit me and actually make that traumatic shit come true :sob:

I personally find it very interesting how the consciousness of the fully turned Ish is presented in Decayed and Decrepit. He is obviously not like the other infected. He has a faster reaction time, is able to speak and can see people from a farther distance. This is obviously connected to the fact that he's the only player-controlled infected.
But his character stands against most of the things that others (mainly DaD!Jonathan) know about the infected. Infected are normally seen as monsters who used to be human but became something else through the infection. After fully turning they are no longer considered human and no longer posses human abilities. They are controlled by the hivemind of the infection and there's nothing human left in them.
But then there is Ish. Despite being fully turned and hunting most players whenever he sees them, there are there rare moments of clarity that shine through. He led Spidey and Jonathan towards his old home to make then find the voice recording. Which infected who was completely controlled by a hivemind would do something like that when it could help Spidey and Jonathan find a way to defeat said hivemind.
I haven't really found a canon explanation for it, but instead i thought of a scenario that made sense out of canon (at least to me):
Ish knew about his infection and was aware what would happen once he fully turned. He had done enough experiments to know basically anything about the loss of humanity and that the infection takes over the body by getting rid of whatever made the person human. But he knows that he can't die yet, he knows too much that could still help some of the people who are trying to find a solution.
With that thought in mind he starts experimenting on himself in an attempt to make him somewhat resilient to the infection. Sadly it doesn't work as he'd hoped and he end up fully turning. Only that his being doesn't get taken over by the infection in its entirety. He and his thoughts are still in the body, he still sees everything the monster does. But he can't do anything. He feels the infection trying to fight against him still being there, but it can't fully erase him.
There are rare moments when Ish managed to regain control over his body. Him leading Spidey and Jonathan into the underground trap for example.
He sacrificed himself for the low chance that he's able to give the bus people enough hints for them to be able to end the infection.
Instead of choosing a merciful end, he is now stuck in a body he can rarely control himself and is forced to watch how the thing which has taken over control is trying to kill one person after another.
So this detail has been stuck in my head for far too long. Aside from the fact that he slowly stops correcting DaD!Spidey every time she says Jonathan, it is very clear that Schpoodâs character has strong feelings about his real name. There has to be a reason on why he doesnât share it with anyone - not even with DaD!Spidey who he considers a reason to stay alive.
After spending far too much time on thinking about this, I had a few possible explanations for why he doesnât want to share his name.
1. Distance:
He considers his name a rather personal detail and uses the secret as a way to keep distance between himself and the other characters. The detail is his alone and no one else can influence it in any way
2. Trauma in regards to his parents:
I could imagine that his real name is connected to the trauma of losing his parents. There might be the last people who called him by said name and therefore he connects the name most likely to the trauma of hearing them die. Someone calling his this name now would only trigger him and remind him of his unresolved trauma.
3. Religious connection:
As the father of Schpoodâs character is a priest, it is really likely that his real name has some kind of religious meaning. âJonathanâ stopped believing in God when he failed to stop the spread of the infection. If his own name had some religious meaning like âa gift from godâ Iâd imagine that âJonathanâ would feel really annoyed about the irony. Him being a gift from a god that doesnât even exist haha very funny
Drag path, but it's a future where Spidey finds 4c's signs after he's fully turned into an infected.
The signs say: "My friends I don't know if you'll ever find this but I want you to know it's not your fault. If you're reading this, I'm gone. I don't know how much longer I have left, and I don't think I'll remember in time. But if this truly is my last words. Jonathan, Spidey. Thank you. Don't forget about me, okay? I'm your friend, I know you already told me that, though. This world is cruel and unfair. But there is always a light beyond the horizon. Maybe after all of this is over we can go and ride the roller coaster again together."

if i had a nickle for every time i write a hurt/no comfort fanfiction about a minecraft server where some kind of disease kills/takes over the body of people who are infected, i'd have two nickles.
Which isn't a lot. but it's weird that it happened twice.
Soo small update on how my current wip (the tr!pangkey f1 au) is going.
Basically nothing is written down yet but the plotting goes hard. I now have a Pinterest board and an excel spreadsheet to ensure that the points make sense. Additionally, I have infiltrated the f1 fandom on every social media platform I own. The edit go hard, the ideas in my head harder.
Im so committed to the thing that Iâm slowly questioning if itâs still considered normal to be this fixated on a fanficâŚ
In case I never get to writing the fic I now at least have a large amount of f1 fanfics in my ao3 bookmarks because the fandom has some crazy talented writers :0

Lukey and Pangi stay true to their earlier promise of spending Christmas together with Lukey's family; feelings are confirmed!
Let's not talk about how late these are. Consider it a final hurrah for 2025. Lets give it up for: Mistletoes & Christmas Trees!
Read online or down below!
Lukey had always loved the holiday season. Despite his aversion to the cold, it became a reason to get close to someone for warmth. Then, came the colorful Christmas lights and decorations popping up all over the cities and towns, making his night walks even more enjoyable. But, if he was really getting into the nitty gritty of why he loved the season... it was probably because everything about it made it easier to form human connections. He, as a social butterfly, loved the ease in always having an ice breakerâChristmasâand how it became a reasonable excuse to buy someone a drink or shy away from boring business talk. That was of course, before he'd met Pangi. Who knew a connection made in 3 months time could change everything heâd loved about a season?
If Pangi was a surprise, then him saying that he was able to spend this Christmas with him was like wrecking ball into the carefully crafted house of cards Lukey had built for himself. Except⌠he was kind of excited.
The Osborn clan had, more or less, heard about this mysterious friend of his that heâd only known this year. If not because of Pangiâs prominent place in his contacts, then from his social mediaâand if not through there, from his sister. Somehow, she always knew things.
So, when they both showed up to the family house in Somerset, two holiday jumpers of similar sizes greeted them along with the various grins and knowing smiles from the rest of Lukeyâs family. He was glad at how easily Pangi had blended into the hustle and bustle of such a large household. Heâd been nervous that they would intimidate him, but after hearing his name and the word âhamsterâ in the same breath, Lukey knew there was nothing to worry about.
The day soon became a whirlwind.
Lukey and Pangi were separated by the family almost immediately. Lukey was whisked away under the excuse of helping take out the decorations and household chores that were left over by everyone else, while Pangi was given the title of honored guest and entertained by the various Osborn siblings who had too many things to gossip talk about. It wasnât lost to Lukey the mischievous glints that danced in their eyes, but what could he do, his parents seemed to be along for the plan. Who made him a busybody during the rest of the year and constantly making breakthroughs that disallowed him from coming home as often as heâd liked?
In the giant family room, laughter and cheers constantly rang throughout the rest of the house as Pangiâs natural charisma entertained them all. While at every other part of the house, Lukey was interrogated in length about this new person whom they had only heard about through snippets and photos.
This continued on until the evening where everyone seemed to converge under the smell of good food into the too small a dining room, to which everyone once again congregated into the family room. It was well decorated nowâwhich took Lukey by surpriseâgreen garlands hung everywhere there was space, lights blinking on occasion like fireflies hidden between the tufts of green and behind colorful baubles, and candles had been lit around the room coating the room in a soft scent of vanilla and spice. It felt so overwhelmingly comfy.
As they ate, Christmas music played in the background, the already lively atmosphere turned even more festive. Although the food was eaten, the questions in turn started flying as all the couples had gathered together⌠of course, the two boys werenât excluded.
âSo, Lucas!â Lukey looked up from the pie he was destroying on his plate, a sense of anticipation running through his veins. He was distinctly reminded of when he was at Scottâs Halloween party, the only difference being Pangi was with him this time. âWeâve heard a lot from Sem that you and him arenât a thing yet, whatâs taking so long?â
That was not what he was expecting. The fork in his mouth suddenly became more interesting than the pairs of eyes glancing at his direction. Pangi wasnât much help, from the corner of his eye, he could see the Dutchy taking a verrry long gulp of whatever heâd loaded his mug with. Lukey hoped it was eggnog.
He coughed, dropping the fork back onto the plate and covering his mouth with a fist, before chuckling. âWhat do you mean?â
âCome on Lucas~, you can share. We wonât judge.â Bullshit.
âWell umâhahaâI kinda already thought we were?â The gasps and oooâs echoed throughout the family room. Lukey saw the nod of approval from his dad, which felt like a load lifted off his shoulders. He turned to the culprit. Pangi was still mid-drink. âArenât we, Sem? We had plans after Christmas and everything, celebrating the New Years together and what not. UnlessâŚâ
Lukey set his plate down and leaned back on his hands, the signature smirk forming on the corners of his mouth, as he threw the hot potato to Pangi. Two can play at this game.
Like clockwork, all the curious eyes moved to the Dutchman whoâs face was still covered by the festive mug. He sputtered and coughed, drawing a laugh from everyone in the room, Lukey included.
Pangi set down the mug and quickly wiped the white mess off his face. It was definitely eggnog.
âUh, I mean⌠yeah, I guess?â Pangi ran a hand through his hair, chuckling. He looked adorable being nervous in the spotlight, Lukey couldnât help but smile, to which he quickly hid behind a sweater paw. âBut, itâs not like weâve kissed or anything.â
That was the last thing Lukey heard before he suddenly found himself in his loose Christmas jumper, a defeated but fond smile hung on his face. A string of colorful incandescent lights hung off his body, along with lengths of silver tinsel that didn't match, and baubles of various shapes and colors. He looked utterly ridiculousâas if the spirit of the holidays vomited on himâbut the dumbfounded look of awe on Pangi made it all worth it. His heart melted into a warm feeling in his chest and Lukey wanted to do nothing more than share it with this boy who had captured his heart from the moment they met. He stepped forward, a smiling frown on his face with arms reaching out as far as they could towards Pangi, palms upward in invitation.
Pangi slowly blinked at him, brows raised in question. Lukey nodded his head. They closed the space between them, their eyes mere inches away and breaths mingling, foreheads touching, but not quite hugging.
âYou look⌠Christmas-y.â Pangi managed to say, but quickly laughed it off. Lukey rolled his eyes, his hands found Pangiâs and slotted their fingers together.
âIs this the rumored ârizzâ by the âPangâ Iâd been hearing all about?â Lukey asked as he leaned closer, eyelids fluttering as their noses touched.
Pangiâs breath hitched. âLucas⌠your familyââ
Lukey nodded quietly, his mouth opening in guided whisper. âThe mistletoe, SemâŚâ
Pangi's eyes widened, the glow of realization on his face comparable to the lights around them.
âHow did you know?â He whispered back, but didnât pull away.
Lukey rolled his eyes, finding it adorable at how much Pangi had to learn about his family. âYou think I donât know my siblings?â
The Dutchman shrugged before stepping back, their hands falling apart as Pangi took the bundle of herbs from behind him and loosely tucked the festive sprigs into the collar of his sweater. Then he felt warm, soft lips on his as hands cupped his jaw.
The Christmas music that had been playing in the background drifted away as Lukey pulled Pangi closer by his waist and deepened the kiss. This was the undeniable rule of Christmas, right? A kiss in the presence of a mistletoe.
The corners of his mouth rose as he continued to kiss Pangi⌠Christmas came early.
-----
They had fallen asleep on the couch together. The bundle of Christmas lights lay coiled around Lukeyâs feet, while the tinsel wrapped loosely around his neck and around Pangiâs hand. Lukey lay crookedly against the corner of the couch, sandwiched between Pangi, who lay against his chest, and the sofaâs arm. His head leaned inwards, his nose just above the Dutchmanâs hair, a smile lingering on his sleeping face.
SNAP!
The sound of a camera cut through the room.
âShhhhhh! Youâre gonna wake them!â A cacophony of hushed whispers and held back laughter followed. âDonât they look so cute?â
There was a murmuring of agreement.
âHand me a blanket.â There was a snicker. âWelcome to the family, Sem! I hope Lucas remembers to warn you of our shenanigans next time.â
A thick blanket settled over the two boys. It only seemed to draw them closer together.
