Love is the emotion paired with the decision. You have the emotional sight down and that's beautiful. That is a fun part but that is the easy part. Love to me is infatuation manifested into a conscious decision. Love is when you decide : this is the person I'm going to surrender myself to - regardless of their past, regardless of what they've been through, regardless of who they've been with. This is the person I will submit myself to entirely. And I will not only submit myself but I will immerse into this relationship knowing that even on the worst days I will still love them. I will decide to love them on the days where I hate them. Real love is a mutual decision. It has to be a mutual decision. Unrequited love is one of the worst experiences you could ever go through. You do not want to decide to love somebody when they have not decided to love you. That is not what you want because you will find yourself wasting yourself away for someone who doesn't even appreciate it. A lot of people date the version of someone in their head. Really you're infatuated with the version of this person and not the person themselves. In my past relationships a lot of what I thought was love wasn't even love because I didn't even make that decision, we didn't even make that decision together. We just liked each other a lot. There was infatuation. There was just deep attraction. But there was no decision.
