i’m trying to decide what book to read during my 17 day vacation on a tiny island in the middle of the ionian sea. nothing too intense. an extremely cheesy historical novel with a touch of incest, as if mary renault had written it, would be ideal. mary renault never wrote about ancient rome because blah blah blah, but if she’d been a little less snobbish, she would’ve fallen in love with the julio-claudian dynasty and written the historical novel of the century
