basically I am CRAVING spamtenna rp, specifically big shot era because I adore their dynamic and their build and how they’re both horrible and terrible but so devoted to one another oh I love them so much— anyway, I’d prefer to play Spamton as I am so deeply connected to that lil guy. I can do human au or just regular universe, and nsfw is welcome as long as it’s not the main focus. I am also literate — novella!

Mind you, I'm not talking about when people point out his flaws, or you know, a genuine criticism (generally coming from people who. Like him. I don't think If seen a good criticism of his character from somebody who's even, like, neutral about him??)

Anyway!! So much of hate Tenna recieves trends towards. Call me a snowflake all your want. But ablesim. Stuff like 'suicide baiting Tenna' is a harmful BPD sterotype. It comes from people trying to downplay the seriousness of the mental illness by claiming 'They're just being manipulative! They're just trying to ger attention!' It's a real disorder that affects real people. These stereotypes can make these people feel like these feelings are invalid, and instead of reaching out, they'll think 'I'm being overdramatic!!' No.

Tenna is extremely mentally unwell, and Toby treats his character with caution and kindness. People like Tenna aren't bad people, and Tenna isn't a bad person himself. He's done bad things. He's a flawed character. But those flaws don't define him.

* Neither Tenna nor Spamton were abusive in their relationship!!! They genuinely loved each other!!

* Tenna is an unreliable narrator!! His guilt warps his perception of the world so not everything he says will be 100% reliable!!

* Tenna knew like, nothing about Spamton's deal!! He knew something bad would happen if he made him sign the contract, but he thought it was something they could work out together!

* Spamton was willing to break the terms of his deal because he trusted and loved Tenna!!

* Tenna DIDN'T KNOW SPAMTON WASN'T GOING TO COME BACK. He didn't 'choose the phone'!!!

* Tenna and Spamton don't hate each other. They're both hurt. They both love each other. They're both unreliable narrators.

* Tenna isn't violent!! Tenna doesn't usually go 'hellboard crazy'!! He wasn't in control!!! He was SCARED!!!
