The Maine just dropped album 7 and wow did it put me at peace. I’ve had such a hectic and stressful week and their album couldn’t have come at a better time. Just like I have with every maine album release, I listened in the dark, alone, with good headphones. With every song that played, the more relaxed and less alone I felt. The songs were total bops yet also calmed my soul. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should give it a listen. If you’re not ok now, you will be soon. 💜

I was browsing through old concert photos while updating my website and came across these. Hello 2007! This was my first and only JoBros show. I was seated right beside the stage and saw them at the Ryman. It wasn't even sold out. These were taken on a really old and very low quality digital camera. It isn't in my blood." - @shawnmendes 🎶 • • I'd mentioned in earlier posts how I've been trying to fall back in love with creating and making art. Life has thrown me so many curveballs during the last two years and I won't lie, it's been hard to keep swinging. • • For the first time in my life, I've been forced to really slow down and I've realized the people, places, and experiences that are most important to me. Creating art is one of those experiences that is such a part of me because I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil. It's all I've ever known. • • So many times I've felt like giving up and wondering if this was all worth it. This week gave me the opportunity to really figure it out. It's been a slow week for me with my contract work so I decided to put the pen to paper (or stylus to iPad in this case) and just create. The more I put into the tiny details that likely no one else but me would notice, the more fulfilling the process became. • • I poured HOURS into this illustration (roughly 30 hours), and I've never been so proud of myself for sticking to this project and not giving up like I have with so many projects in the past. For the first time, I can actually visualize my work becoming what I always wanted it to become: album art. • • As this piece was coming together, I couldn't help but mock it up on an album cover because I could see it being one.
