i don't know if it's just me but i don't believe in the change that zoya's character makes in the shadow & bone trilology to the king of scars duology.

in shadow & bone zoya is the stereotypical boyfriend stealer (mal and alina scenario) who wants to sleep with any slightly attarctive guy. (she even at some point says that she'd marry nikolai without hesitation and flirts with tolya, saying that he should use his skills with romatic poetry on her and "he might have a chance.")

but then in the king of scars/rule of the wolves she suddenly has these emotional walls around her. she doesn't give guys a second glance and even seems disgusted by anything remotely romantic or intimate. (even her romance with nikolai seems forced.)

it just felt like i was reading about two completely different characters.
