On saturday we went to the library and I got out a charming wee book for my little one called "1 is one". Now I am obsessing over the author, Tasha Tudor. Writer, illustrator, gardener and crafter, basically my ultimate goals 💛💛💛

I got a supplementary set of Prismacolor markers for my birthday and just had to try them out...
A drowsy kid
Nice crafts for when you're sitting in bed:
Needle felting
Pros: very intuitive, no classes required, just stab the wool until it's the shape you like. Cons: requires specific type of barbed needle, might accidentally stab your own fingers until you get the hang of it, and even then you'll probably stab yourself a bit.
Needlepoint or cross stitch
Pros: maybe only need one tutorial to learn about away knots and pick which needlepoint stitch you want to use. Very comforting to work within a grid and makes the piece easy to pick up and put down at random. Following patterns might be hard, but I say make up your own or start with a simple bargello which is high impact and easy. Cons: requires special fabric, can exacerbate carpal tunnel.
Embroidery
Pros: do it on practically any kind of fabric with any old thread/yarn/embroidery floss. Feels super nice to spruce up an old knit cap or plain tee with little designs. Can't really think of any cons.
Hand sewing
Pros: learning a simple straight stitch, back stitch and a French seam will work on a variety of fabrics and look super nice. Mend clothes and sew little cat toys like a thrifty badass. Cons: depending on what you're making it can be very time consuming.
Lazy paper mache
Ball up and twist newspaper to make weird shapes, cut and layer cardboard for flat art with some dimension. Bind and cover everything using regular masking tape. Pros: recycle materials you probably have in the house already. Cons: can get a tad messy if you're doing a lot of cardboard cutting and probably have to get out of bed eventually to paint the finished work. It won't have the hard or smooth finish of "real" paper mache but I think it's nice.
I've been sick the past week and finding it uncomfortable to sit at my worktable for much painting, but I always like to be doing something with my hands even when propped up in bed. This list is not encompassing every single way you can craft while lounging but are my personal favorites and in my opinion have the smallest learning curve, while also being easy to put down and pick up later without losing your place :)

Daedalus And Icarus by Andrea Sacchi, Orazio Riminaldi, Charles Le Brun, Anthony Van Dyck.
dude, what if we built ourselves the home we never found between the narrow grooves of a valley and its neighboring woods, what if we cultivated untamed wildflowers at the birth of spring and shared aftection through softly spoken love letters, what if we held hands as the sun fell victim to the moon's lullabies and ran our fingers through each others hair.. ha ha, no homo.. unless..?
