The creature appeared as Sylvara, a demure look on her face. "Hello, dear. Have you been taking care of your flower?"
Poison had been checking on her plants when Sylvara appeared. A chill went up her spine but she steeled herself, refusing to show the creature any fear.
“As a matter of fact, yes. It’s thriving quite well,” she said, her pepper plant being close by. Good thing I’ve already harvested a basket-full and that it’s producing even more, she thought ruefully. I’m gonna need to contact Lord Jarad.
Poison instinctively reared her head away from Sylvara, her tiger ears appearing and laying back.
“Oh dear, that must bother you still,” the warrior replied, managing to move close enough to her pepper plant. “Me, with young, youthful skin that looks alive and you, with your false dryad skin, looking like a dead leaf.”
She took a step back and grabbed a bright red pepper that was particularly portly off a higher branch and threw it into her mouth, stem and all. As she chomped, she immediately felt its effects, the flames licking the edges of her mouth. “Also,” she started to say as she inhaled deeply, “GET OUTTA MY GARDEN YA DAMN VERMIN!” and opened her mouth, letting out a blast of fire in Sylvara’s face.
Jace! Go get Lord Jarad now! It’s the creature!! she thought to her mind mage, hoping he was nearby.
The necroling laughed, and extended the skin around her fingers into a wide, flat wall of flesh, blocking the flames. The skin crackled and turned black, but held the flames at bay. When the fire ceased, she reached up and broke the dead mass away from her hand, and grinned maliciously. She tossed the mass aside, and inspected her skinned, sinewy hand.
“You’ll have to do better than that, love.”
She laughed again, each syllable punctuated by a burst of a foul black cloud forming from her mouth. Her face cracked, showing muscle and bone. A nearby plant started to wither, choked by the black cloud.
Poison recoiled from the cloud, making the creature out for what she was.
Shit! She’s a walking carrier of that damn plague! she thought as she channeled red mana to summon a spear, deftly tossing it at the now-ruined tomato plant and continued to use red mana to summon an earthen ball around it and its root system, the infected plant on successfully isolated from the others with the plague itself also contained safely.
“Get out of my garden!” she snapped angrily. “If your purpose was to make me angry, well congrats you did your job. Now get the fuck out!”
The creature cackled and turned around. “You always were the easiest to torment,” she said.
“Be waiting for the end, my dear. I’m far from through with you.” Without lingering, the necroling departed.

The creature stepped uncomfortably close to Poison, and it spoke with a voice devoid of feeling. It’s eyes turned black.
“Why don’t we just put the charade aside, love? I don’t think I can bear to look at you until your skin is rotting.”
Appearing as Yeva, the creature stepped out of the shadows, clearly stifling a fit of laughter. "Foooound youuu..."
Chandra felt her heart lurch in her chest, slowly backing away from the creature. “Shit…shit.”
“Oh...Don’t run, Chandra. I have such great things to show you,” the creature teased. She stepped rapidly closer to the pyromancer, changing into the dryad ‘Sylvara.’
“I’ve been watching you even when you didn’t know it, my lovely.” She raised a hand that betrayed her true form, skinned and rotting. She beckoned Chandra. “Come with me...”

Rather than use either of her now drawn knives, Ann slammed her body into the back of one of the necroing’s knees. Contorting and twisting her body, she was careful not to run into Vraska as well. She stabbed her kitchen knife into the ground between two cobblestones to right herself, now low to the ground by Vraska’s feet.
The necroling tumbled away, landing on her knees.
Vraska stepped over to the creature and delivered a swift kick to her ribs. “I really hope you can still feel pain,” she said. “Thank you, Ann. Now…this will be a new one. Killing something that’s already dead.” She lifted a claw, and black magic swirled around it. “Let’s see if this works.”
The necroling shuffled away, stumbling to her feet. She hissed loudly, exhaling a necrotic black cloud. The deathly mist covered her, obscuring her from view.
“You cannot kill me,” she spat. “I have a greater purpose than this! Eheheheh...you’ve made your way into my sights, Vraska.” Her voice started to fade and echo in the tunnels. “And you can’t protect Ann forever...”
The look on Ann’s face was one of blank horror, as the undead-thing cycled through her forms, first Sarah, then Christian, then the Dryad that had taunted her. She became Yeva too, in an all-too familiar move that left Ann wanting to cry, even more than her impression of Christian did. As she shifted to a face that Ann didn’t recognize, she finally snapped back to some semblance of her senses.
“Vraska!” Ann shouted, rushing forward toward the impending conflict. She fumbled with her belt, trying to draw her other knife as well.
“It seems we were tricked, Ann,” said Vraska calmly. “Your real sister is dead. This must be the creature I’ve heard so much about…” She met the necroling’s strike with her claw, putting the two of them into a lock. “You’ve caused quite a bit of trouble, haven’t you? Why didn’t Jarad just kill you when he had the chance?”
The shifter pushed harder at the mention of Jarad’s name. “How dare you mention him!” she shrieked. “Jarad is everything I must be...”
The undead elf shifted in an attempt to break Vraska’s grip, and readied her other claw to strike.
