and these are interesting (if VERY questionably "forgivable") mistakes & flaws that i think expose a lot about the characters, their fears, their beliefs, their hypocrisy, in a way that makes them feel imo BETTER and more dimensional as characters. but extremely few people want to even acknowledge these things as having happened at all, let alone as reflecting anything about the character
