Hello! I’m Neb, or Saek on other online platforms. I’m a fan of Starfield since launch and it’s become one of my favorite games of all time despite its general reception. I have a LOT of things to say about this game, the characters I’ve created, and other opinions about the game that I have.
I do hope to create a calm and collected space to discuss Starfield without the vitriol thats surrounded it for the past three years, even if it seems impossible to do so. All I ask is that if you plan to only comment stuff like “starfield sucks and you suck too” or anything else that lacks value to not bother with it.

at the risk of further ridicule i'm taking the opportunity to say that it really fucking sucks not to be able to watch almost any content at all about starfield because the grand majority is just people shitting on it. i get that public opinion is public opinion but the hatred is insanely disproportionate for a game that's mediocre at worst.
there are people who will lose respect for me solely for talking about how much i love this game, it's happened before and it will happen again. i am not trying to win the idgaf war. i will never sit here and act like it isn't a flawed game, it is, very much so. i'm also not going to play macho and pretend that i don't care and that it doesn't hurt, because i do and it does. we all have things that we dislike vehemently, but at this point it's become less about preference and more about a refusal to entertain the idea that starfield might actually be worth something to a number of people. it is tiring
The angle and zoom are incredibly awkward because you just can't get close enough to the moon, but I located in-game one of the sites Artemis II photographed and tried to (very roughly) recreate their image.

Terran Armada already has a grip on me and I’m loving it! The Armada weapon design is the most eye-catching to me at the moment, simple yet effective and well designed (at first glance anyways).

a.k.a. the epilogue that Starfield won't let me write
Harper, Sam, and Cora all wait to enter the Unity until Cora has graduated university. In the meantime, Harper and Sam expand the known systems in the Settled Systems, and Sam jokes that he is the new Solomon Coe. Harper and Sam access the Unity together and eventually reunite after crossing over a few times, while Cora enters the Unity after finishing her second doctorate.
Noel and Vlad develop a transdimensional location device based on the control probe from the Nishina Research Station. Though the Constellation team is unable to take the device with them, they use their knowledge of the device to rebuild it in each universe - thereby allowing them to find each other in every timeline. While things don't always go smoothly, every reunion is easier than the one before it.
Sarah enters the Unity before Harper and Sam do, whereas Andreja follows after they leave. Once all of them are "Starborn," they start traveling together like they did before, but over time split up to explore on their own. Their need to keep in touch improves interstellar communication in all universes, however.
Harper reconciles with every version of the Emissary that he can - and while it doesn't make a significant impact on the multiverse itself since it is far too vast for one person to change it, he still feels good about keeping violence to a minimum. The first Emissary he talked to, "the other Barrett," checks in on him and Sam from time to time.
Kaito [Harper's alternate self] also keeps in touch to an extent. Kaito eventually finds - and falls in love with - a Starborn Sam who lost his version of Harper.
Amelia Earhart is invited into Constellation after Harper/Sam/etc. leave, and helps the remaining members continue their research into the Unity. Moara Otero doesn't join but helps out by acting as her co-pilot.
Lin and Rafael Aguerro become domestic partners; they aren't "lovers" per se but they do care for each other and enjoy the other's company. Heller finds a girl in New Atlantis and also moves his mother and brothers to New Atlantis.
Tane Salavea strikes up a strong friendship with Vlad, as well as a surprising friendship with Autumn MacMillan (via Jade). He also helps Sahima Ka'dic leave Dazra as House Va'ruun slowly reestablishes relations with the rest of the Settled Systems via Quasrik Bal'mor.
In one universe, a non-Starborn version of Harper takes over the Crimson Fleet and basically turns them into his version of the Merry Men, with Harper being the quippy equivalent of Zorro. Starborn Harper thinks this is hilarious; Sam does not.
The Unity ultimately becomes its namesake by allowing travel across multiple universes without any guesswork or lost connections. Though Starborn individuals still leave their possessions, the Unity provides them a new start and new outlook on the worlds around them. There is still conflict ofc - and people still fall into old bad habits - but life is easier than it was before. At some point, in a very small number of universes, Earth is partially saved thanks to the Starborns' intervention, allowing humanity to rediscover a version of its history.
