When did it become December!? Living in Spain and keeping occupied out here. I’ll need a holiday when I’m back. 😉 It’s like the Costa Del Eire out here with the various other friends and family also. 🤷♂️ Great craic 😂 As usual, there’s a blog with more written words. #InTheBio @briansmacks @naomi.sturdy @rhysmacallister @angelacarlinclimbs @rickyyoung5068 @jonathan_redmond_climbing @annemcquaid5 @bmcquaid8587 #blog #blogging #travel #spain #cornudella #siurana #climbing #trailrunning #running #study #dcu #strategy #partaaay #cerveza #DosPorFavor (at Cornudella, Cataluna, Spain) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5qWzpVJo-0/?igshid=115dyxiyt7c49

Another blog! (Yes, remember those? 😉😂). Link in the bio which covers the couple of weeks at Saint Leger and Malaucene. Theres some more video in there also to entertain.
Footage above from an onsight attempt on a lovely short 7b+ in Malaucene.
a) if only I climbed that fast! 😂 at present, my speed is more sloth-like. (Footage is 4X speed)
b) loads know I’d surgery a few years ago on the shoulder. Some know the recovery sucked for various reasons and took wayyyyyy longer than anyone said (I’ll write it up sometime in detail). So part of this year trip was to get performance back. 7b+ onsight for me was easy previously (on any rock, at any angle - I’m sure I’m north of 150 routes onsight at that level). From the footage here, you’ll see I’m close again. The send footage is in the bio link. That also means the return to harder climbs is becoming more viable.....
c) climbers and coaches: would love feedback after watching the footage in the bio (there’s high speed and normal-speed footage). Any recommendations to help improve? What is positive, etc. Hopefully it can be shared to help others also 🙏🏼 (and all feedback is good to learn from, good or bad)
As mentioned elsewhere, there’s amazingly beautiful places to visit to climb - hope you all manage to get out there soon 👍👊😃

Part three of 3-day run from Courmayeur to Chamonix, here the final stretch from Trient to Chamonix itself. With a little detour into Argentiere for some food, there’s only one more final push to go before the finish, ice cream and beer in Chamonix!

And here is day two of Courmayeur to Chamonix, here, La Fouly to Triente. A little softer in climbing with some road running (I’d no idea there was some on the Tour du Mont Blanc).

Any trail runners on Tumblr? How about running around Mont Blanc? Here’s day one of a 3-day loop, from Courmayeur to Chamonix.
Random question: how much have you spent on climbing trips? I estimate at least €50k-€60k (possibly more?) in 20 years. You read that right. How much do you think you’ve spent? Link in my bio and below (written in 2015...) explains how I came to this number! https://www.nealmcquaid.com/personalblog/2015/9/14/road-trips-long-term-travel-and-savings #climbing #climb #travel (at Gondelbahn Grindelwald - Männlichen) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1hFmmIo-Gf/?igshid=1h6pnak9t8y8f
Blogs. Remember those? From a time, way back, 2005. Eons ago 😉😂 Anyway, I’m still keeping the blog going. Way longer than an Instagram post, but wayyy shorter than a book. You may even see a nice picture from the past 4-5 weeks (those on Facebook will have seen some already). Happy reading!
