autistic naruto who sometimes has trouble focusing so he tends to talk very loudly and flail a lot — the movements and loud noise helps him focus, so he tends to move around a lot because of that. 

autistic naruto who sometimes gets overwhelmed by the loud noises and crowds of konoha so he’ll climb up the hokage monument so that he can just watch and get away from the commotion down below and let his mind wander.

autistic naruto who sometimes (although very rarely) goes nonverbal due to stress. 

autistic naruto who sometimes just likes to talk to Kurama because there’s a sort of pressure or sensation that’s just calming in a way - it’s not like they’re hostile to each other or hate each other or anything, and sometimes Naruto just doesn’t want to talk to anyone but Kurama’s easy enough to read then having to actually try and respond to social cues and speech patterns etc like Naruto and Kurama are more often than not in sync w/ each other so it’s easier for Naruto to convery his thoughts and stuff to Kurama then someone who’s well, not Kurama) 

autistic naruto who sometimes just likes standing in the rain because he likes the pressure of the raindrops falling onto his face and skin, even though sometimes he gets sick afterwards but he doesn’t care. 

todays autistic character of the day is: hinata hyuga from naruto

- she’s autistic (they all are lbr) - due to her social anxiety + childhood abuse she’s selectively mute - she was mainly alone in childhood so she’s rlly into cheap comics and video games! (My rationalization on ninja tech is a whole other post but I’m sure they have at least enough for a ds or smth) - she’s trans (canonically) and Tsunade was actually the one to help her with a lot of her transition

okay so i talk a lot about this headcanon and i decided to finally do a detailed meta about it.

first and foremost, let’s talk about what c-ptsd is. c-ptsd stands for complex post traumatic stress disorder, a differing disorder from the more common ptsd. it’s worth noting that c-ptsd isn’t an officially recognized disorder in the DSM - it’s been deemed too similar to ptsd and bpd for its own diagnosis, but it’s still used informally and i believe has its merit. i have ptsd, and would describe it more specifically as c-ptsd.

anyway, onto the specifics, and what this means for sasuke himself:

1. the trauma

(if you’re uneducated about what bpd is, here’s a basic overview - be careful of where you look for info on bpd; there are a lot of sites that provide inaccurate info that stigmatizes the disorder)

(if you’re going to yell at me about how naruto isn’t real and this post is pointless, save your efforts, because i really don’t care)

i say naruto has bpd for these main reasons:

he has a fear of abandonment and a deep need for acknowledgment

has what is often called a ‘favorite person’ and much of what he does is grounded in that fact. he desires acknowledgement from this person more than all others and fears their abandonment more than anyone else’s

he is very emotional, and his emotions are intense and subject to quick changes

he is very self-critical

he is high-empathy

i’ll now go through these now in a bit more detail, and try to provide examples.

there is an unfortunate lack of neurodivergent fanworks in this fandom! so, i decided to make this network to collect and make new content (create the content you want to see and whatnot). it’s also a great chance to meet other nd naruto fans!
