ok, thank you!! i was also wondering, would suddenly stuttering so much that you have an extremely hard time speaking also count as that ?

i'm sorry, i tried to google this first but i couldn't find anything and lost focus before going further into search results, but what does going non verbal mean exactly? like...what kinds of things are considered going nonverbal? sorry if that's worded strangely
a broad term for not being able to speak! happens often when someone gets upset/ is having a meltdown, some people just speak rarely, some people are unable to speak. all are considered nonverbal
by “going nonverbal” usually ppl mean the first one (though i assume it can also happen for reasons other than being very upset/having no spoons)
This whole page is pure and good 10000/10, thank you!
thank YOU bud
Rottenella is autistic and nonverbal and communicates through sign language. Pixel is the only one who knows sign language
imagine the other kids thinking it’s really cool and wanting to learn too! imagine pixel making sign language lip syncing vids to songs ... imagine trixie coming up with nicknames for everyone in asl and ziggy finding new ways to express himself nonverbally when he gets too excited and starts stuttering,,, The Possibilities Are Endless

another fun fact from that interview with Stefán; he says that Robbie has ADHD, tourette and OCD just like Stefán does, but Robbie is just way worse at handling his symptoms
Stimming Stephanie <3
Stephanie loves dancing because when she goes nonverbal she uses dancing as a way to express what's on her mind!
canon
inner me: mirror this person’s speech patterns
me: why?!
inner me:
stephanie meanswell, who loves lists and records everything in her journal. stephanie who has a bad memory and needs to write down what she did that day. stephanie who can’t sleep until she knows all the information is securely stored in the notebook. stephanie who spends hours on vent pages she’ll never show anyone. stephanie who can’t bear to part with her comfort item and worries endlessly that someone will steal it.
id like to bring this image of steph after losing her diary to your attention

ziggy has adhd and pixel is autistic
headcanon that sportacus has adhd and he and robbie are both autistic and have sensory processing problems but in completely opposite ways
like in the show robbie is hypersensitive to most things and gets sensory overload a lot but sportacus is hyposensitive to most things so hes constantly moving and stimming and stuff to avoid being understimulated
(this is a large part of where their misunderstandings of each other come from)
[does a split] i have depression
pixel is autistic + video games are his special interest (he likes to play the same game over and over for repetition). he's sensitive to sunlight so he doesn't like to play outside !
i'm glad this blog exists it makes me feel less silly for projecting my mental disabilities and illnesses onto these characters and i'm glad i'm not alone <:) anyways sportacus and stephanie have The Big ADHD
hell yeah i used to feel like i needed to bend over backward to like,, “prove” my headcanons were good and valid but now im just. all of thes characters are gay and trans and have All of the disorders because i say so and no other reason

I just have too many emotions about Autistic Robbie Rotten. I see too many of my own things in him-- like, I can never sleep, the sounds that come out of happy children are unpleasant in a sensory way but also?? happy kids scare me a little even as an adult bc of how awful other kids were to me when I was one?? And while some people have a flat affect, I walk around posing/moving/emoting like a super loud mime?? and that's so Robbie. (plus what's with his collection of coins? Special interest?)
“...also, just... junk food is so *consistent*, both in taste and texture. You might bite into one apple and have it be crisp and sweet, but another will be mushy and bland, or too-hard and tart, and you might not be able to guess from the outside, or you might not know if there will be a bruise you didn't notice, or a worm hole/spot a bird pecked at, which could be off-putting... but every bite of a chain hamburger is going to be the same, so it feels 'safe'
And you could just write his normal outfit off as being weird bc it's a kid show, but... if he doesn't need the stretchy material for being active (or would prefer not to), then it could be a sensory thing, wanting his clothes to kind of 'squeeze', or preferring the feel of certain fabrics and disliking others (though for short-term, of course, he's willing to wear lots of things as part of a disguise... sometimes of the same type of fabric, though).
Plus, THE CHAIR just screams sensory processing issue to me. Having something soft and fluffy, either because ordinary upholstery feels bad or makes an awful sound when rubbed wrong, or just to be able to pet/feel as a de-stresser. And holding onto what looks like a childhood blankie despite long having outgrown it-- deriving a lot of comfort from a security item, as well as from having soft things close at hand!”
Robbie has dyslexia.
