Really wish they’d kept the original plan in place for Halo 2’s story, I love Halo 3 to death but it can’t compare to the Arbiter discovering the “gods” the Covenant so revered were the humans they were trying to eradicate all along. In any instance, he’s the best part of Halo 2 and 3, and doesn’t get nearly enough recognition within the franchise beyond them

Halo may look just like any other sci-fi shooter from the early 2000s, but at its core it is a truly transcendent tale of courage in the face of impossible odds, and the heavy burden knowledge beyond comprehension can place on even the most insightful of minds. It sum is more than the whole of its parts, a sentiment I think all halo fans who still find themselves being drawn back to it after a quarter of a century realize.
