“friendship talk” will have 22 episodes with a different member each one, the show focuses on talking about the relationship yanna has built with each member as well as notable moments and experiences they’ve had together. the order is random, but feel free to request for a certain member to come next and you can also leave a question/s for them to answer.

pre-filming conversations:

yanna sat in front of the camera, being given the question cards as the staff started putting food on the table.

“can i speak in english? it’s ten-hyung anyways”, she checked with the staff and the replied that it was fine. they’re just gonna translate and add korean subs on the video. she rummaged through the questions and laughed at the fan-asked ones, wondering if ten approved them and were comfortable talking about such things. the staff replied that he was and she mentioned her relief.

for a more comfortable setting, most of the staffs were asked to leave the hotel room. it was only yanna, ten & one of the managers behind the camera to help them with the questions they’re supposed to answer.

“today… is the first episode of ‘friendship talk’. we have food, so we’re just mostly gonna eat and talk about the last… 8(?) years of our friendship. how do you feel about that, hyung?”

ten could only proudly look at her

“it’s an honor to be on yanna’s corner”

of course, teasingly.

yanna only reacted by grabbing sushi with her chopsticks and acting like she didn’t hear him.

“this was a bad idea”

“i feel good. and i feel like i’ll enjoy the conversations we’ll be having. it’s not all the time that we get to talk about things like these…”

cue yanna clapping at his response, saying “as expected”

grabbing her chopsticks, the girl placed different kinds of sushi on her plate and asked which ones he liked so she could put some on his as well.

they talked about which language they’ll be using and both agreed on english but with mixed korean.

“are you ready?” “no, i’m nervous all of a sudden”

first question: “how did you two meet?”

“i remember /exactly/ where and how i met you”

cue yanna biting on her chopsticks unsure if they were remembering the same thing

“let’s say it in unison so we’ll know if we remember the same thing”

“outside the dorms because of johnny-hyung”

“after training with johnny-hyung”

yanna clapped as soon as they both answered, delighted that she remembered the same thing. ten the initiated a high-five as he smiled proudly.

“i was so scared that i was wrong”,

cue ten giving her water while laughing.

“we met because, it was after training for that day and johnny-hyung and i were going back to the dorms… ae-cha was crying outside”

yanna already covering her face in pure embarrassment.

“i really cried a lot when i was a trainee, it was really no joke”.

“you did, i was shocked. i, like, saw you a lot with mark and the others but i was surprised seeing you crying outside our dorms. i thought one of the trainees were fighting with you….”

both of them laughing at his deduction.

“i really just cried over simple things”

“she was crying and johnny-hyung got so worried so i was like (😦) too, even though we never formally, like, met. then she told us why she was crying, then-“ he stopped when yanna suddenly hit his arm— embarrassed about the next part of the story. but ten only continued.

“she had tears in her eyes, she had like puppy dog eyes when crying and she looked up to me and was like ‘who are you?’ while /still/ sobbing”

yanna pouted as she listened in on ten’s story about her, munching on her sushi shyly. she remembered that, as well as how johnny laughed saying she looked so lost all of a sudden.

“after that, we started approaching each other more. ‘cause our dance teachers talked highly of her, and i would be like ‘oh, /that/ yanna’”

“i can’t remember why i was crying…”

second question: what’s your favorite memory with each other?

yanna started clapping and laughing as she remembered hers, even raising her hand like it was necessary.

“it was in 2018”

cue ten genuinely confused, not remembering what it was.

“ten-hyung took me out to go eat bingsu…”

she glanced at him to check if he was getting where she was going with her story.

“we ate bingsu nearby our dorms and he told me that he was going to be in a new unit.”

“why’s that your favorite?”

ten still confused because he didn’t expect yanna to answer with that since it was just a random day for them.

“because you looked really excited and happy about it, after so long i saw you in that state and it really made me vividly remember how you looked like that time…”

the two turned quiet for a few seconds, making yanna shy before silently laughing.

“see, i knew this was gonna be weird at one point.”

her manager saying “you’re gonna make someone cry in one of these episodes, or you’re gonna cry” and she just continues eating while ten laughs.

“anyways, your turn”, she turned the question around and ten could only laugh even more.

“mine was back in trainee days”

“the first time you performed at the rookies show and you cried”

cue him laughing at her again.

“why am i always crying in your memories…”

“you cried, and that time you were already close with us. almost everyone. but even though that was true, you ran to me that time while crying. i, really, i was so touched”, he told her truthfully.

“i didn’t think you’d remember that….”

“i hugged hyung that time because you helped me become confident while i was practicing with mark-hyung and you seemed like you were willing to hug me, i feel like everyone else was also nervous and you seemed like you were fine.”

“but seriously why was i always crying…”

third question: what is your favorite thing about each other?

“ten-hyung liked me as i am from the start.”

cue ten smiling widely because his answer was greatly linked to that

“like, since we’ve talked about me crying a lot during trainee days, even though he knew that he never told me to be like ‘stronger’ or to stop being sensitive. with other things too, he never forces me to be like this or that. and, it’s not that other members force me to become something i’m not, but they always tell me to be stronger and that’s okay. i do need that sometimes, but ten-hyung’s always like ‘that’s fine, you’ve always been like that’. i like how he guides me that way instead of the other way.”

yanna looking away because she’s realizing it’s awkward.

so ten just answers as well while laughing at her.

“mine’s that you never change.”

yanna literally ignoring him while she drinks water.

“a lot of things changed but your heart never does, it’s just channeled towards other things now. but the way you love people is still the same, you treat those people dear to you the same. you’ve just learned how to hide yourself from people who don’t know you, but that’s okay. you needed to protect yourself a lot and that’s alright. but i really like how you never change towards me no matter, like, how far away i am and stuff like that.”

skips to the next question before anyone gets emotional

fourth question: describe each other in one word.

“lovely”

“are you saying i’m your fan…?”

“no, actually lovely. but that works too.”

“ten hyung’s… awesome.”

“awesome?”

“yeah”

them high-fiving for no reason.

fifth question: what’s one thing you’ve wanted to do together but haven’t yet?

“ah, we want to be in a unit together! just us. and jisung!”

“right right right, we’ve been wanting to do that and we had idea back in 2020 but then jisung got injured so started just adding ideas into it even more. by now, we’ve got a great concept in mind.”

“i’ve also been meaning to take her to thailand again, just us.”

yanna agreeing while chewing on her sushi.

sixth/last question: what’s something czennies don’t know about you two?

“ten-hyung… got mad at me once, because he took louis and leon to my apartment and they didn’t want to leave.”

cue both of them laughing but also ten stuffing his mouth with sushi, slightly embarrassed.

“it wasn’t like ‘MAD mad’ but he was like ‘ae-cha, do something about it!’ and he was so irritated and i kinda didn’t wanna do anything because it was funny to me.”

it took them a while to move on before ten could give his answer.

“uhm.. yanna.. OH, yanna had me blocked the whole time i was in china!”

cue both of them laughing once again, causing ten’s water to spill all around the table.

literally a panicked yanna still laughing while wiping it with tissues and ten’s just enjoying the chaos. she then explains:

“i didn’t know i had him blocked… yangyang asked me so seriously about it like ‘did you two fight?’ and i was just like ‘no?? wait, what?’”.

“i told yangyang about it and he said maybe you weren’t feeling good and i was like ‘it’s been months though, what kind of year is she having?’”

cue both of them laughing as they remembered yangyang’s confusion.

a message to end the episode with:

yanna’s already laughing and grabbing a tissue jokingly to pass to ten while he just laughs as well.

“firstly, i’m really proud of you. you keep achieving new and better things, that you rightfully deserve. and, i’m thankful that you never get sick of guiding me despite us not having much time to be together. i really admire your hardwork and dedication as an artist, but i also admire you for being a great person and friend.”

finding it awkward, yanna starts drinking water as ten puts an arm around her and gives a hug.

before starting his message, ten told the girl to look at him while giggling.

“you grew up well, really.”

the two smiled at each other with teary eyes before jokingly punching each other to make the mood lighter.

the episode ends with a hug and pats on the back as the two kept saying “good job” to each other.

yanna has very interesting interactions with fans and it’s mostly her being surprised by their questions/actions that she ends up either answering as honestly as possible or just laughing at the whole thing. for example,

she’s often asked by nctzens if she ever saw any of the members as men/if she ever had a crush on them(except the obvious). if it’s her dream members, she often just laughs and replies with “i don’t think having a crush on chenle or jisung is… wise. for me, at least!” and then proceeds to say that jeno and mark don’t exactly make it easy for her to have crushes on them.

in conclusion, renjun, jaemin and haechan are people she’s considered to have had crushes on.

but, it gets weird for her when she’s asked the same question about her other hyungs. specially taeyong.

“taeyong-hyung? no. never. i would rather eat a rock.”

or johnny.

“i know i supposedly have daddy issues but-“, she cuts herself off because both the op and her started laughing at her response.

it’s worse when it’s a member she isn’t much close with, like xiaojun.

“uhm. xiaojun-hyung’s handsome, of course. and his voice is really nice. i guess it’s more like ‘wah, he’s a great guy’ than… anything other than that. yeah…”

and when it’s either sungchan or taro who she met after her and renjun got together, she just goes

“… think clearly”, she would laugh after to prove that it was a joke. kinda.

other things asked during fansigns would be about her dog, noran. fans find it endearing and funny that everytime someone asks who noran’s favorite member is, it changes…

and it’s never her.

“noran likes jungwoo-hyung these days, but he’s on tour. so i facetime him for her.”

“these days? it’s chenle. and daegal likes me too these days.”

“for now it’s taeyong-hyung, he bought her lots of snacks so…”

“she stayed over at the members’ dorm because she wouldn’t let them leave our unit.”

some ask her about other idols, if she knows them/is friends with them. she never is.

“ah, the boyz. i see them, of course. but i’m not close with any member.”

“ah, ive. [literally starts dancing to love dive] i don’t know them personally though.”

“ah. you like that group more than us? [threatens to end the video call]”

other times, she gets asked about her relationship with renjun and it’s always drastically different how she responds to such questions.

sometimes she answers enthusiastically.

like when she’s asked how she feels when renjun eats with the other members and not her.

“qīn likes hotpot a lot so he ends up eating with other members who like that too, he doesn’t want to force me eat it all the time since i’m not a huge fan of it these days. don’t worry, he can eat with them all he wants. i don’t get mad!”

or when they ask her if she gets jealous of the members basically being in love with renjun

“it’s fine, they can’t have him in the end anyways. i’m convinced they’re equally in love with me and each other.”

but sometimes, she isn’t in the mood and the questions go overboard so most fans love her being real with “fans” that are too much

like that time someone asked her if she’s ever considered changing her mind about her and renjun’s relationship.

“no. you really wasted your time to ask that?”

that’s always her response and it sends.

sometimes she enters the vc and gets welcomed with the weirdest shit, like a czennie dressed like renjun

“……”, she ends up laughing her ass off because what the fuck. the fan even started singing “be there for you”, making her crack up even more.

there was also a time a fan welcomed her by singing a full taylor swift song.

they didn’t get to even talk but the fan was satisfied that yanna had fun singing with her.

2. yanna and instagram lives

yanna’s almost always munching on something or drinking a smoothie during group lives. so, she can’t exactly tune in on the comments.

that’s why she’s easily pissed off when the one second that she does, a hate comment catches her eye. it’s happened in different occasions, she says “wait a second” to her members and comes close to the device being used for their live and blocks a hate comment she sees.

fans were confused at first until they realized what she was doing and instead found her admirable for it.

there are instances when she does lives alone, but instead of blocking she announces their username and answers the unnecessary comment.

like the time there was a comment about her voice not being good, and she wasn’t in the mood to be nice about it

“keep that to yourself…”

or when comments keep comparing her to the other members

“username H9Kywh667, find a better hobby.”

there are also times that fans join her lives and she’s just like “look, i’ll accept the requests if you guys are actually gonna show up. it’s always a black screen.”

there was also a time a renjun akgae was upset that yanna kept hanging with other people during her ig live with haechan, and she literally grabbed her phone and faced it the other way to show that renjun was right there.

“he’s here, stop getting mad for no reason. you look stupid.”

cue haechan laughing his ass of and renjun’s just like “i think i’m in love with you”.

but when comments are positive, she usually ends up kissing the camera or blowing kisses.

fans started calling her instagram lives “girlfriend video calls” and that’s how she notifies them on bubble when she’s going to do it.

“y/n, you have a girlfriend video call later”

during group instagram lives and there’s a comment for her that the members read, she just waves and smiles.

she also makes eye contact with camera a lot while drinking, not knowing it leaves fans weak in the knees.

3. instagram comments

yanna blocks hate comments and it took a while for fans to notice that. they thought the commenters would just delete it but it happened too often that they eventually figured it out.

doyoung confirmed it for her during a live once, he laughed about it and said yanna really hates such comments so she had to fix it herself.

cute fan comments are usually liked by her. and when it’s a really long and warm one, she replies with a heart and a “love you”.

if it’s a fan with a similar un as the members, she replies with “i didn’t know you loved me that much?” as a joke.

yanna hanging with renjun and xiaojun on the bean bag chairs while she’s giggling at how her boyfriend apologized to the other for yelling at him during “cherry ball”. cute.

literally skips over towards haechan and pushes his butt to the side, asking for kimchi jjigae.

once taeyong was done rolling up the huge cotton candy, he started looking for yanna and jaehyun pointed at the girl who was back on the bean bag chairs.

he sat next to her and shared, but immediately doubted her after she pulled a piece once.

taeyong: did you eat lunch? i don’t think you did.

yanna literally pointing at mark, doyoung, renjun and jaemin’s table, “did i or did i not eat?”

mark, in the middle of eating chicken: she did, hyung.

then there’s jaemin and renjun saying “no” as a joke.

in the end, taeyong still shares the cotton candy with her.

“i miss jisungie.”

work it! i wanna see you dance dance

yanna was pulled by both haechan and jeno to sit by them, literally in the middle of the two as her head leaned on haechan’s shoulder and her leg was on jeno’s lap.

doyoung mentioned her as one of the competitors for the segment and she mumbled a small “i don’t want it..”

but for some reason, haechan would pull her up in every song while she glares at jeno who she’s been pulling too but the boy’s too strong.

the only time she didn’t come with haechan was during “next level” and “feel the rhythm”.

the way her, haechan and jeno ate up “replay”, there was even a close up of renjun proudly smiling.

when haechan and xiaojun battled it out, she sat on the table under the umbrella chenle was on and cheered there.

“aigoo~ you did great, baby”, she cooed towards haechan who came back to his place defeated.

kick kick kick kick kick ‘em back

they were asked to play again by haechan to decide which team yanna will be on, but the white team wouldn’t let her go.

literally both mark and chenle holding her arms while jaemin just stands and blocks everyone from seeing her along with taeyong who keeps claiming yanna was resting.

in the end, the blue team said it was fine as long as she’s with them on the next one.

“you just want me to shove them because you know i would”, she complained towards the members and yuta was like “you’ll do well, ae-cha”

but also mark and chenle claiming they just didn’t want her to leave their side

sungchan taunted her once saying if she comes out, he’ll come out. but then he noticed renjun beside him and jokingly got scared.

yanna doesn’t condone violence but the game was too funny and she enjoyed yelling out cheers for the white team members.

“yutaro! yutaro! yutaro!”

she really wanted to play and was immediately pulled by jungwoo when they realized taeil and doyoung were playing.

the ‘yanna in nct 127’ agenda came up again because of the battle, led by jaehyun saying “oh, uri ilichil”.

in the end, the white team won and she immediately hugged them.

stay close to me like a sticker

right after the last game ended, jaehyun literally carried her towards their team while sungchan covered her despite it already being agreed on that she’ll be in theirs.

“this is bad for you, though. i added more people to the team”, she worriedly said.

but almost all of them were like “no, it’s fine”

jaehyun: yanna, i could hold you in one hand don’t worry too much

and in the fourth round, that actually came true since he had to carry her on his side while they tried to keep their position.

she cheered as they won, hugging taeil as haechan mumbled that they were cute.

announcing of winners

doyoung said that yanna was going to get a beef set since she worked hard for both teams and she immediately showed a heart to him.

as she grabbed one, she went close to the camera and said “jisungie! we’ll have a good meal.” renjun stood next to her and pointed at his set as well and have thumbs up, mouthing “jisungie”.

hendery: what a happy family.

chenle: i’m going home with yanna today!

“good job, hyung~”, as soon as taeyong received his best cheerer award.

when asked about her message/thoughts about the field day, she only flashed a heart.

but then they asked her again and she sighed before eventually talking.

a cold war. it’s how chenle described it within the group, well, except when he’d be talking to either jaemin or yanna. but in jeno’s point of view, it was simply his bestfriends being too shy to approach each other after a long time of being… distant. nctzens notice it, of course they do. everybody does. but it wasn’t a fight, since they do talk. it was just.. again, distant. unusual to the jaemin and yanna they’ve been through the years.

but, the members couldn’t blame them. jaemin and yanna were bestfriends since 15 and 14 respectively, had feelings for each other, one moving on and the other having to act like he did when he didn’t, had to confront unsaid feelings and basically had to move forward adruptly from the whole fiasco for the sake of the group. to add, jaemin had to watch his first love be in a relationship with one of his bestfriends. and yanna had to act like it’s all normal when she beats herself up everyday about the chaos she caused within the group.

both feelings eating them alive for more than a year, making them unable to function as bestfriends anymore. at a point, jeno even brought up that they seemed so much like co-workers. which bothered yanna, so she tried. and jaemin did too, causing a more awkward air for them during “universe” promotions. because despite trying to bring “them” back, it wasn’t the same thing as actually talking about why things turned out the way they did.

that’s why, glancing at the members walking out the practice room and wondering why yanna didn’t seem like she was going home, jaemin put his foot back in his shoe. jeno noticed it, but kept quiet as he stood up and approached the girl.

“which move?” the pink-haired boy asked her, the girl immediately responding with their point choreography slowly— afraid that she was butchering it.

“i feel like i look dumb doing it”, she admitted, looking at the mirror and accidentally locking eyes with jaemin. jeno hummed for a while, thinking of a way to make the girl feel more at ease with the move. the scene was all too familiar to the two 00-liners, it took them back to yanna’s start of training with them. after she was told she’d be debuting in nct dream.

back then, yanna was too precious to be forced to move her body the same way they’re asked to. she was a good dancer, but it’s not news that the female trainees are asked to dance a softer way than the male ones. back then, at least. so to jeno and jaemin, they made it their duty to help the girl not have a harder time than usual. she wasn’t oblivious to that, but she was on the way jaemin’s worriedly looking at her as she stomped her foot in frustration— annoyed at how her body looks on their current choreography.

“you’re fine, you probably just feel weird”, the samoyed-eyed boy mumbled. he came up behind her and helped her focus on which body parts she should move to make her feel less awkward, pointing towards her shoulder and her waist. while the other was busying himself with his shoe, despite already leaving it on for the second time.

yanna’s gaze never left the floor, although focused on jeno’s words as her breath was getting heavier. the boy tried to ignore her sniffling, knowing for a fact that the girl would eventually talk if she wanted to. but as her shoulders shook in between small sobs, his hand involuntarily went to her back to comfort her. it wasn’t surprising, renjun did mention that the group’s resident cheerleader was having a hard day. but like they all know from six years of being her friends, ‘don’t ask unless she wants to tell’.

yet if there’s something jaemin knew differently than them, it’s that yanna doesn’t like being asked because she feared piling on other people’s problems. she’d rather keep it all to herself if that meant she’d be saving everyone from making adjustments for her. he wasn’t sure who else knew that about her, but it was always one of the reasons why the girl always seemed precious to him. no matter how distant they are and how fast time flies.

it took him a second to realize that jeno was leaving, mumbling about how the boy will get her some water while signaling the other to watch over yanna. and as the door closed, silence filled the air. unlike how other people think, it wasn’t awkward. but it did pain him to hear her sobbing quietly and not move even an inch.

so he did. finally taking his shoes off and placing them on the side, he calmly walked over to sit beside her on the floor. both leaning on the mirror and absentmindedly letting their arms touch for the first time in a while, the girl treating it like a warm hug as her tears rolled down even more.

“why are you crying?”, jaemin tried to ask playfully. the tone made her scoff, noting in her head that the boy was talking to him the same way he would always talk to jisung. but in a way, she felt comforted.

“what if i fuck this up and it ends up not doing as great as last year?” she mumbled her worries, still sniffing a bit. the doe-eyed boy looked at her, frowning.

“when have you ever fucked a dance up, yanna?” he asked, almost deadpanning. his mouth was rising up a bit, unexplainable in a way since he was only staring at the girl who looked like she was on the verge of laughing yet his reddened eyes were on full view. she looked funny yet pityful if you didn’t know her well enough, but jaemin did.

“you practice hard. you probably just feel weird because the dance is weird! who would dance like that on a dance off in the streets? or for free style? people would laugh before they even start clapping” he started ranting, piling on even more as yanna started snorting. he missed this. but for some reason, it felt different. not in a bad way.

“what?” yanna asked, noticing how jaemin paused for a second and smiled at her.

“i missed you”, he admitted. the girl could only sigh and rest her head on the other’s shoulder. and like jaemin realized before, it felt different. it was a different kind of happy, and probably the one chenle and jisung have talked to him about in random conversations wherein the two would be gushing about something incredibly random yet definitely similar.

“i’m sorry…” she mumbled, finally acknowledging the elephant inside the room. after more than a year.

“i wanted to let you deal with your feelings on your own, but then… i wasn’t sure how to ask if it was gone and it felt selfish to ask for you to be back as my bestfriend. i wanted us to come back naturally, but then.. i guess we both chickened out a bunch of times”, she continued. her tears rolling down her cheeks and into the boy’s shirt— he didn’t mind, a sad smile on his lips as the girl talked.

“you’re more than just a first crush or love, you’re my bestfriend. and i didn’t know if it was fair to want you back as one…”

on jaemin’s shoulder, pouring her heart out, was yanna huang. his first love. the girl who walked into his life and made a mark on it, teaching him the difference between platonic and romantic love. the one who gave him his first heartbreak as well. but despite that, his heart was happy having her back. happy that she was finally comfortable enough to lean on him again.

this was what jisung and chenle always talked about. that happy feeling when yanna asks jisung to do something and gets happy when he accomplishes it. that satisfied feeling chenle gets when yanna asks for a push or a bit of advice from him and follows it. the warmth the both of them feel when yanna’s in a mood and only likes talking to them instead of the other five.

it was entirely different to how renjun shared how happy he felt everytime him and yanna would go on dates. that he no longer finds offensive to know about.

yanna was precious then, as a trainee who knew no one but jaemin’s friend jeno. and yanna was still precious now, as his co-member for almost six years, his friend’s girlfriend, his bestfriend’s bestfriend and of course, his bestfriend. yanna’s always precious, no matter what role she’ll end up having in jaemin’s life.

“we’re bestfriends, yanna. we can always go back to being that.”

for the intro vcr, yanna symbolized we young.

she was much more hyped during day 2, most of the time singing her lines in a different tune and easily finding the camera just to press kisses on it from time to time.

renjun scolding her because… safety. 😭

during “my first and last”, she teased her past self for having such short lines and her “past self” started crying.

fans also pointed out that there was a correlation between jaemin, yanna and “to my first” but not something too obvious. just the subtle looks during the performance.

her solo song also changed for the 2nd day, she performed “red lipstick” after “better than gold” and before the ment.

them questioning why yanna has a white mic and her saying it’s because she’s pure.

chenle: you’re lying to the whole venue?

as chenle mentioned bang chan, felix, jun and minghao being at the venue, she also mentioned somi being there and gave outa finger heart.

during “life is still going on” her and mark were the most hyped, adding adlibs here and there. during one of renjun’s lines, there was a cute shot of her leaning on the railings of the cart while renjun basically hugged her from behind. power couple, really.

during the edm ridin’, go and boom, she was on the floor of the cart to see the fans better.
